Have you ever noticed how everything in Just Cause games is related to the Spain? Rico Rodríguez was born in México, former Spain colony. Sheldon was born in Texas, a part of former Spain colony. Rico's first missions were in Panama, Patagonia and Guatemala, all three were, again, Spanish colonies. And most importantly: all four countries in JC games (yes, including Panau) were colonias españolas. And all the stuff like architecture, music and soundtracks, historical monuments and vibes in common fueron transmitidos perfectamente. In San Esperito and Solís this hispano setting really felt, all interactions with the locals were in this language. Medicians, however, were speaking interlingua, but that's because devs wanted to create an island-mix of all three main Romanesque cultures – Italy, Spain and France (and Monaco as Citate Di Ravello). So... the question is – why, do you think, Avalanche Studios, being Swedish, constantly emphasized cultura castellana?
P. S. I actually really love this, I'm not complaining
I've got an idea about untold Just Cause story that took place in a period between 2009 and 2015
Let's imagine: It's 2012. It's been 3 years since Rico's mayhem in Panau. The country is now US-friendly and all problems with oil there are solved. But it's not about Panau. Long story short, the Agency scientists created a time portal using stolen eDEN technologies. At one night, some madman from Black Hand infiltrates in the Agency base to use the portal for an unknown reason (unknown yet). He activates it and teleports into 1776 where he starts to help Great Britain in their war against American colonies (future United States) by selling them future technologies. This leads to catastrophic aftermath, timeline when United States weren't formed. Before completely being erased in a time-substitution, the Agency sends a group of high ranking Agents including Rico Rodriguez, Maria Kane, Emerson Miller and some other Agents that we saw in Danger Rising DLC. Tom Sheldon couldn't appear there because it would ruin Rico's phrase at the beginning cutscene of JC3 ("Nothing changed since Panau, Sheldon?").
So, this is basically a game about American Revolution, where Rico and the gang correct timeline and form United States. It's an open world, but this time it's not a massive big island, but many maps of different US East Coast locations and some UK locations. No futuristic weapons (just not to create time paradoxes) and by that I mean no assault rifles, shotguns, SMGs, pistols, sniper rifles and etc. But! Grappling hook and parachute would exist. It is at this moment Rico and Maria "disconnect" from each other, Rico grows his iconic beard, starts wearing red and blue clothes (that double denim style from JC3 is American revolution's influence on him) and becomes more polite and kind. This is also a good chance to "test some Agency genetic engineering programs, allowing Rico to recover his health in a few seconds and upgrading his stamina".
The 3 storyline-DLCs would be about 1812 war, American Civil War (Rico teleports into 1860s) and Wild West (Rico is on the West Coast now, with deserts, hats, cowboys, showdowns and outlaws + he also meets Sheldon's grandparents)
I love history and time travel, and I realize how absurd the idea looks. But what's your opinion, guys? Could it potentionally be a thing?
Remember that guy called Diego Marquez Espinosa de Málaga? Great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Leon Espinosa and great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather of Oscar Espinosa. He was a conquistador who conquered Solis and turned it into a Spanish colony. Now this is the port where he sailed from Spain - Puerto Malaga. It actually exists in real life in a city called Malaga. I was so confused when I was doing region strikes and suddenly Sargento started talking to me about Puerto Malaga and I was instructed to steal some blueprints from there. I was confused because I lived in Malaga for several months and now its port is mentioned in the videogame. Also, this is the only mentioned place (not a country, but a building) in Just Cause universe to exist in real life.
