I think the only escort missions that were okay were the hacker ones at the missile bases. The initial driving part was at least semi interesting because you had to evade your pursuers although it sometimes was annoying, and the defense part at the end wasn't too bad. The Army of Chaos actually showed up for once to shoot shit, which is rare for them. Seriously, I like messing around with AI allies in games and in JC4 the AoC never show up and are extremely incompetent.
JC3's system didn't make since when it came to bases, (why would you blow up fuel tanks instead of just taking the base and using the fuel?) but it did make sense when it came to towns since you were destroying propaganda machines and destroying the local garrison. I would have liked if you did "base raid" missions to take the local stronghold and JC3 liberation for towns and small outposts.
Ha, someone liked the classic Plechovka but no one cared for the Kousava. Pretty sure like 12 people each owned those small DLCs for JC3 and it looks stupid anyway.
I love the Misfortune and used it so much to the point where using other primary weapons felt novel. It is powerful and precise but still shoots pretty fast. Honestly, it is still satisfying to wipe out basic soldiers with one burst.
Dear god...
We're really running out of ideas, huh?
I guess Solis just doesn't have that much mineral wealth. It is a small island nation after all.
I think rebels have moderately more health than grunts, although having as much as elites might be an exaggeration on my part. It's hard to tell from just memory of the game or without actual knowledge of how health and damage work in Just Cause 3, like if there is a mechanic where Rico attacking rebels does less damage (they take two melees to kill) or if NPC's weapons do less damage. JC3 isn't exactly a great game for controlled experiments, but it might be worth experimenting with. Huh, I am genuinely curious now.
I think helis would be more of an interesting challenge because of SAMs and weaker armor, while with tanks might be more fun, but you can easily just blow up everything. Also helis are good for transport.
Don't rebels have like as much health as elites? Is it because the elites have the Predator instead of a Plechovka?
I like how the player picks up the same gun and fires for 5 seconds straight and it has laser aim and then an AoC rebel fires a burst and the bullets go at impossible angles away from the enemy. Damn the rebels in JC4 are so weak. I rarely ever see foot soldiers kill anything with just their guns. Even when it is 3 rebels vs one BH private the fight goes on for forever until one rebel throws a grenade.
Newer does not equal better graphics, although it generally does. Also, as I was saying, this is pretty subjective because people might think a game's graphics are better, but in reality, they just like the environment or art style better. I myself never really noticed substantial improvement in JC4.
To be fair, this is probably partially about what games setting and artstyle you liked more. Some people probably just though Medici's environment looked cooler.
Also, I found the graphics in JC4 look kinda like a PS3 game in the jungle for some reason, probably because having an actual well modeled rainforest in a Just Cause game, with random crap going on everywhere, would make my PS4 catch fire, but it looks good in other areas. Otherwise, I didn't see much of a difference in graphics between the two games, but to be fair I am playing JC3 on a next gen console.
I agree with of SGT's points, I really do not like the base liberation missions. Too many of them have similar, boring objectives like finding the circuit breakers and like 80 percent of bases end with you defending something while something is hacked. I like the re-education camps though, they are even pretty fun to liberate. Multiple of my complaints are the same as SGT's, but some I want to add is: I wish the random events from JC3 were in the game. The random roadside events and random encounters added a lot of flavor to the game. Things like the convoy rescue and stuff were actually kind of fun. I also find there aren't quite as many missions where you get to participate in big, cool battles. I really liked the big finale missions when you liberated regions in JC3, and sometimes I don't even do the objectives in those and just participate in the battles. There are a couple of missions where larger fights happen in JC4 too, but not on the same scale. In both games outside of non-repeatable missions it can be difficult to get cool fights to happen, but at least in JC3 cool firefights could happen if you just led military soldiers to a base. In JC4, AoC foot soldiers are pathetic making it even harder. Also, it annoys me that there are sticky bombs that are separate from weapons, so if want to plant bombs on a car or something I have to call in a mine launcher just to screw around. I also have a lot of minor grievances with JC4, like dropping weapons when you are out of ammo, having to do boring side content like the ancient statues and stunts to unlock vehicles, and how snipers in helis are broken (I think sometimes the sniper on the other side will aim at you even though he isn't even able to face you or something like that, I should go and see if they are still weird) I think JC4 does some things well too, like being able to change the direction of drops, and all the things you can call in, secondary fire, etc. Ok, rant over. It might sound like I hate JC4, but I had fun with it, I just like JC3 more and found it had a lot more replayability.
Whenever I used the lightning gun, it didn't hit very much other then chaos objects and wasn't really a combat tool. As for the primary fire, I often found it more effective just to shoot people in the head.
Oh, and I should mention that I don't absolutely hate the AoC aesthetic all the time. I find it ugly, but normally I don't pay attention to it while exploding a small South American country. (Grammarly tried to correct "exploding" to exploring lol)
Right, I forgot all three of the safe havens have airfields and are controlled by the rebels from the beginning. I was thinking that they only had Cava de Rebelles and also forgot it had an airstrip, but then again there isn't much reason to go there aside from like one collectible and some missions. But yeah, I don't necessarily hate the color and paint scheme of the Rebellion, but I sometimes just want the more clean military livery. Rebellion aircraft are cool though, and I don't have a problem with their uniforms Their equipment looks like something rebels would wear, and obviously for gameplay reasons the rebels need to have distinctive colors.
I also find the grafitti on AoC vehicles somewhat annoying sometimes and sometimes I am okay with it, like the mouth on the rear door of the Dropzone Chopper just kinda bothers me. To be fair I also didn't like the grafitti on Rebellion vehicles either sometimes. I wish you could choose to have rebel dropped vehicles be in their military livery if you wanted to.
The JC3 rebels also magically obtain a fighter jet(s) despite likely not even having airfields at a very early point in the game for rebel drop.
Also the JC3 rebels seemed a bit more serious in their dialogue overall, aside from when meeting Rico but that is because Rico is basically a real-life superhero to them. When in vehicles you can hear them talk about things like concerns about ammo, family they lost, the future of Medici, etc. The Army of Chaos meanwhile...
