The '84 Sheepdog is a DLC vehicle in Just Cause 4.
Appearance[]
It's a four door car, customized to look like a dog. The car seems to be a customized Prisa Cúmbila, covered with brown fur, a tongue sticking out of the grill, ears near the front wheels and a tail at the back.
This vehicle is an easter egg to the similarly dog-shaped van driven by the main characters of the "Dumb and Dumber" franchise.
Turning will turn the eyes (front lights) and raise the eyebrows (custom components above the front window) accordingly. Also, the vehicle produces a dog barking sound. The car also has a tail, which is nearly constantly wagging. The wagging effect is actually caused by the tail being able to swing freely and bouncing back from the sides.
Whenever the car is called from the supply drop it is accompanied by Skramp, the small black dog.
The car is available in multiple color options. It's normally a 2-tone combination. So far seen are:
- Light brown.
- Dark grey and brown.
- Light grey/beige and dark grey.
The bottom right corner of the HUD that normally has a company logo has a dog paw-mark and the wheels have bone symbols on them.
Performance[]
It's quick and agile. It seems to be well suited to making many sharp turns on narrow streets. The wheels get so much traction that there's never a need to brake, unless you want to stop.
The car is equipped with nitros (speed boost) and turbo jump (jumping ability depending on the speed).
The boosted maximum speed is only achievable for a split second before the nitros runs out. In normal traffic, on an average road, it easily possible to maintain 140 km/h even with out the boost.
On an average countryside road, it is possible to out-drive pursuing Vagabundo Buggys, but only thanks to out-maneuvering the A.I. drivers around obstacles. Speed-wise it's hopeless to even try. That said, the Vagabundo Buggy is possibly the best-handling vehicle in the game, so as is to be expected.
The jumping ability is adequate to jump over other cars, but likely takes some practice to get the timing right.
Locations[]
Once the player has purchased the "Shark and Bark vehicle pack" DLC and downloaded it, the vehicle becomes available at the supply drop.
Trivia[]
- The '84 in the name obviously means that the vehicle is from 1984, but the vehicle it is based on (Cúmbila Sedan) is from the 21st century, and the movie van that it is an easter egg to is from 1994 (when the first movie came out and made it famous), so it is off by 10 years. As such, this vehicle could be interpreted as a massive anachronism.
- As seen in the small documentary below, a small relatively low stunt jump is enough to pretty much destroy a real vehicle.
