The A5 Coyote Assault Chopper is a vehicle in Just Cause 4. It's a part of the Danger Rising DLC.

Appearance[]

It's a modern single-seat light attack helicopter, painted in a combination of white and black (the new Agency faction color).

There's a camera ball under its nose and some more unidentified equipment behind the pilots seat.

The HUD shows a small Agency logo where the company logo is normally shown.

It somewhat resembles the Firebrand Scout Chopper.

Performance[]

At first glance it may seem under-armed with only 2 machine guns, which would make it equal to the Firebrand Scout Chopper, but it can also launch naval mines. There are 4000 cartridges for the MG and 20 mines.

The mines are actually so big that not even 1 should be able to fit into the helicopter, so they just spawn directly under the helicopter and fall. Aiming these is hard, because the mines get momentum from the helicopter at even very low speeds, so the mines seem very light. The helicopter itself is also very light since it can easily slide and fall to its side when Rico jumps onto it.

Agency pilots often try to drop mines on the player, but they pose a minimal threat, because the mines are difficult to aim and easy to spot when they are being dropped.

The machine guns can be annoying (when being used against the player). Being rotary machine guns, they have a high rate of fire. Using any sort of cover is a bad idea, because the helicopter can drop mines to explode the cover. Instead, the best defense is the grapple the helicopter to the ground.

The helicopters cockpit appears to have light armor to protect it from small-arms fire. However, it can actually withstand almost as much damage as a tank. This is all because of JC4's armor equalization system - an unrealistic health point system that makes all armored vehicles survive equal amounts of damage.

Locations[]

  • In the air around most of the Agency submarines.
    • USS Statesman has the least of them with only 1 spawning every minute, or two.
  • Unlocked at the supply drop after completing USS Visionary.
    • One of the Agency ranking agents called "Burkhart" also uses one at this submarine. This one is uniquely unable to be hijacked.

Trivia[]

  • A coyote is a type of dog-like wild animal.
  • The mines have a collision bug where they can explode on the helicopter.
  • Considering the specifically naval armament, this is the first naval attack helicopter in the Just Cause game series.
    • Other naval helicopters have been Jackson JC - 2 Alamo (large transport helicopter that is based on a real helicopter that specializes into navy jobs), Urga Racek (small unarmed helicopter that can land on water) and Emsavion Float Heli (JC4 version of the Urga Racek).
  • According to some game files, the machine guns are called "heavy heli machine gun", which refers to the machine gun. The HUD simply calls them "machine gun".
  • At the time of this article being made, this was the first one alphabetically.
