This article is a list of all armored vehicles in the Just Cause Game Series.
About armor[]
The value of the armor of some of these vehicles is very much questionable in comparison to "tanks", but this is not a list of tanks. It is a list of all vehicles that are armored, either by their obvious armored appearance, or by performance.
In certain situations the armor value might differ, depending on wether the player is in that vehicle. Just Causes all make the players vehicle slightly heavier and more durable by some hidden %. The below numbered values have to be measured.
Also note that the armor rating is not a direct comparison between the games. The ratings are comparable with in the same game only, because we obviously don't know the "power" of the in-universe weapons. For example:
- In JC1, the Ballard can survive 3 explosions (all explosions are equal) before the fourth one destroys it. The Harland can only survive 1 before being destroyed by the second. Any lesser ground vehicles are totalled from a single explosion.
- In JC4 all the tanks can survive 2 explosions before the third one destroys them. The Warchief Assault Tank, a heavily armored main battle tank, appears a lot more armored than the Ballard, a small IFV that looks like a cross between an armored car and a light tank. However, explosion-wise the Warchief can take less damage than the Ballard before being destroyed, assuming the weapons in both games do as much damage.
Also note that the games might have different damage counters for bullet damage and explosion damage and different bullets (from different guns) are likely to cause different amounts of damage, so keep that in mind when/if attempting to count the shots needed for destruction. Explosions however always seem to be equal. JC2 can upgrade some explosives, but those upgrades seem to mainly upgrade the blast radius of effect.
See this article for more about explosions, and which are equal and which are not.
Another important thing to note is that one may find some of the numbers in the durability table very questionable or even ridiculous. This is because the durability point diversity between different types of vehicles become increasingly smaller over the games, and different vehicles become more equal. This is to say that in JC1, the durability of vehicles are more realistic: the most armored "tank", the Ballard series armored vehicles can survive three explosions before the fourth makes them explode while an armored heavy attack helicopter (the Delta MAH-15 Chimaera) or an APC (Meister LAV 4 series 2) can only survive one before the second destroys them. In JC4, however, light, medium and main battle/heavy tanks as well as armored helicopters and APCs are indifferent - they can all survive two explosions before the third destroys them, despite there being large differences between said vehicles types' armor and protection, at least in-universe/in real life. See: Equalization.
Armor rating in the table[]
- One column represents durability vs. bullets.
- The other column represents durability vs. cannons/explosions.
Measuring works like this:
- All durability is measured against empty vehicles, because we know that the games make the vehicle tougher depending on who's using it.
- All weapons used for measurement are used by the player, because even though the player using it will often buff the weapon, it is the only way to accurately and easily measure the vehicle's durability.
- Bullet damage is measured with specific weapons, because we can't be sure of how much damage different bullet weapons cause per bullet.
- JC1 Fleisher AR-5 Blizzard.
- JC2 Machine Gun (JC2).
- JC3 Urga Vdova 89.
- JC4 Defender Machine Gun.
- Explosive damage is also measured with specific weapons. Really we know that in some of the games all explosions are equal, but we should try to be sure instead of guessing. The explosive weapon should have the damage output of a "standard" explosion, if such a standard exists in the game.
- JC1 Ballard M5B1 Scout.
- JC2 SV-1007 Stonewall.
- JC3 CS Odjur.
- JC4 Warchief Assault Tank.
- The number in the table shows the lowest possible number of shots (direct impacts) it takes to destroy the target. This means that for example, if the target catches fire, then the shooting should stop, because all vehicles blow up from a certain number of seconds of burning.
- We can't measure shields, so shielded vehicles are measured with no shields and have the shield option mentioned.
Table[]
Note: In the table, you may find some of the numbers in the "Durability to cannons/explosions" or "Durability to bullets" a little questionable, especially in JC4. This is because despite there being differences in armored vehicles' armor, some of the games have all vehicles similarly or just as durable, as long as they have any armor at all. For more information see Equalization.

Trivia[]
- There are numerous misconceptions or colloquialisms regarding tanks and other armored vehicles in general, most notably what would have been IFVs or AFVs which assume the role of tanks.
- In Just Cause 2 Multiplayer, the GV-104 Razorback and SV-1007 Stonewall are often classified as tanks due to their cannons.
- For Just Cause 3, the Urga Bkolos 2100, CS Odjur, and Imperator Bavarium Tank are referred to as tanks, both in-universe and Multiplayer.
- In JC4, most vehicles listed have very similar "health": being able to withstand two explosive hits before the third destroys it. This is because of Just Cause 4 equalizing the durability of vehicles and damage of weapons. This results in several vehicles sharing the same durability despite their appearances suggesting otherwise. Examples include the Warchief Assault Tank, Prizefighter Tank, Pointman Scout Tank and Reptile AAV, all of which take three "standard" explosions to destroy.
