The Aviv Scarab is a submachine gun in Just Cause (1).

Appearance

It's a small submachine gun, which looks like it could be equipped with a foregrip, making it a two-handed weapon, but it's always wielded single-handedly in the game.

It's probably based on the real world Italian Spectre M4.

Performance

As a submachine gun, it has an incredible rate of fire - faster than all but the Nova 9. It has a downside though which is just below average range and has bad accuracy just above that of a shotgun. The Aviv Scarab is more suited for fast-paced firefights than the Nova 9, because of the higher damage it inflicts per shot.

It shares ammunition with the Nova 9 and Aviv Panthera.

Locations

• Used by the Guerrillas, Montanos and Riojas.
• It's used once by the San Esperito Military during the mission Devil's Drop Zone, at the shootout on El Rosario beach.
• SWAT use this weapon very rarely during city Liberations and medium Heat.
• On display at the San Esperito International Arms Fair in the mission Some Enchanted Evening, along with the Barclay Phantom.
