Bavarium Blackout is a mission in Just Cause 3.

Introduction[]

Mission briefing on the map: "Falco Maxime, the hub for Di Ravello's Bavarium research, is protected by the most deadly of Di Ravello's weapons: an array of Bavarium nukes. Dimah has found the root of this weapon's power and guidance and calls on Rico to disable it."

Walkthrough[]

Dimah explains that as usual, the nearby pipeline contains both power and optical cables and leads to the place to blow up.

The pipes will lead you a few hundred meters up the mountain to a set of locked blast doors. Dimah hacks them open remotely. Behind those is a 254 meter vertical shaft straight down. Jump in and don't forget to use the Parachute, or Grappler before you get to the bottom.

The first room will contain some scientists and a single soldier. Open the door to the next room and start shooting. There's several soldiers on the other side, along with an Urga Vulkan-wielding Black Hand Titan. Shoot him in the face to kill him quickly and optionally take his Urga Vulkan to destroy the generators. You can also use other weapons if you aren't concerned with ammo.

Once that's taken care of, turn around and go to the next room - the room with the cave walls and a pond. Dimah will open the blast doors so you can swim outside through a flooded tunnel.

Trivia[]

  • In some areas of the room, you might notice the "Warning Falco Maxime: Defenses active! Incoming Bavarium Nuke!" message, even though the FOW cannot actually reach you. This means the mission indeed takes place somewhere below Falco Maxime: Centcom.
    • Another possible message about a destroyed enemy aircraft is something commonly seen throughout Insula Striate whenever a plane crashes.
  • In a similar cutscene to The Watcher on The Wall, the rebel seen escorting Dimah has no magazine in his Urga Vdova 89.
  • It can be assumed that the power being transported on the pipes comes from Alte Potentia, the power plant in Grande Pastura.
