Black Hand Statues are political monuments in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
The statues depict a Black Hand soldier on a pedestal. The soldier is in a pose where he is walking in a combat situation and signaling other soldiers to stop and lower themselves for cover and/or to be vigilant here, because he spotted something (assuming that he is using a standard NATO hand signal).
Text on the pedestal says:
- "BLACKHAND
Whose courage,
dedication, and
traditions make them
the worlds finest
fighting soldiers".
The statues are a form of propaganda, meant to encourage civilians to enlist in the Black Hand.
The pedestal is about 7 meters tall and the whole thing is about 18.5 meters tall. They both look like they're made of copper (slightly golden, with a lot of green corrosion), but when it breaks, it's revealed to be brittle concrete.
Destructibility[]
It is possible to destroy them with explosives or other heavy weapons, but it is also possible to lift them away using the airlifter mods from the grappler.
The statue and its pedestal both look like they are made of copper (slightly golden, with a lot of green corrosion), but when broken, it is revealed to be brittle concrete. They are easy to pull, or shoot, apart and break like concrete. It breaks into very small pieces, so shooting at the chest will eventually result in a hole right through the statue. The broken edges are all shiny and reflective, just like metal, but the breaking produces dust clouds and the sound of concrete being broken.
The pedestal is indestructible.
Once broken, the parts remain around the pedestal until Rico leaves. The parts are very light and civilians cannot even see them. They easily kick and push the parts out of their way as they walk along.
There is no reward for destroying them and if the player should get heat for it, then that's likely only because a Black Hand member saw them using weapons.
They stay destroyed for a short while. Rico can leave settlement limits and return, but when the PC/console is restarted, the statues are back.
