The CS110 Archangel is a sniper rifle in Just Cause 3.

Appearance[]

It's a long-barreled bolt action rifle with a telescope and a bipod. The bipod is always folded.

There are multiple texts on the weapon:

  • Near the magazine it says "12.7mm",indicating that it uses 12.7mm ammo(Likely 12.7 x 99mm/50 BMG/50 Browning Machine Gun, judging by the size of the magazine)
  • For reasons unknown, another text on the side of the gun says "Capstone CS-111 Archangel".
  • Text on the scope says "E SPR-L4".

This weapon resembles the CheyTac M-200 Intervention.

Performance[]

The Rebel drop description says "The bolt-action Archangel quickly became a favorite among snipers thanks to its dampened recoil, fast reload speed, and super sweet name."

It's a very useful weapon in terms of stopping power, but the low rate of fire makes it not very useful in close quarters. It deals more damage than the basic sniper, the USV 45 Sokol, but shoots slower.

Trivia[]

  • It's built by the fictional company CS.
  • "Archangel" is an angel of high rank, usually associated with Abrahamic religions.
  • Other sniper rifles in Just Cause 3 are USV 45 Sokol and Final Argument. The last one is Downloadable content for Just Cause 3.
  • It's possible that the "SPR" in "E SPR-L4" might stand for "Special Purpose Rifle", which commonly refers to the Mk 12 SPR, a United States Special Forces sniper rifle made by the United States Navy.
  • For some reason, it says "CS-111 Archangel" on the side instead of "CS110 Archangel".
    • This might be a development error or oversight.
  • "Archangel" is also the nickname of Garrus Vakarian, who is a marksman in the Mass Effect series. The rifle's name may be a nod to his extreme accuracy.
  • Some speculate that this weapon's similarities to the KAC M110 suggest that in-universe, it could be a M110 license built by Capstone and named the CS110 Archangel. Or, the name is just a reference to the M110.
  • Some say the concept Archangel was planned to be a semi automatic rifle, but seeing as it is a bolt action rifle in the release version, it can be considered cut content.
  • Strangely, despite being fielded by the Medici Military and Black Hand, they never actually fire this weapon, even if they do aim at Rico. Why this is so is unknown. Even stranger is that the soldiers/mercenary which wield the weapon are not sniper character models.
