The CS Comet is a helicopter in Just Cause 3.
Appearance[]
It's a medium transport helicopter with a very angular design and an unusual 4-point wheeled landing gear setup, of which is normally only seen on ship-borne naval or otherwise special purpose helicopters. This, and the pale gray paint scheme seen in the concept art could suggest it was originally intended to be a helicopter found on the cut large ships that were at one point planned for the game, like the Medici class frigate (see: Cut game content from Just Cause 3)
It appears to draw basis from the NHIndustries NH90's strikingly angular design.
As with all of their aircraft, Medici Military versions are given randomized markings chosen between MAF07, MAF12, MAF22, MAF26, MAF43, MAF57 and MAF83.
The Rebel drop description says "The CS Comet's highly armored chassis allows it to take risks when delivering reinforcements to the front lines. It is armored but not armed."
There are 10 seats in the helicopter including pilot and co-pilot plus 8 in the back. Only the pilot and co-pilot seats can be entered, but the co-pilot is not able to be used by Rico.
Performance[]
It performs relatively normal for helicopters in Just Cause 3.
According to the description, the CS Comet has more armor than lighter helicopters such as the Urga Postolka. On average, it can barely withstand a "standard" explosion and will explode shortly afterwards, even if it doesn't take any more damage.
This helicopter is unarmed, so unless you simply need a ride, it is better to use some other armed helicopter for assaults.
This helicopter is good at lifting small to medium objects, but the Urga Hrom D can lift much more.
Locations[]
Medici Military[]
- Can be found at these Military bases in Medici:
- Alte Potentia.
- Griphon.
- Guardia Massos II.
- Probably more.
- Occasionally can be seen carrying snipers over a military base or outpost.
- Rarely, if you conquer the outpost, the helicopters won't despawn.
- Can be called against the player carrying snipers in some military base.
The Rebellion[]
It cannot be found flying around as a patrolling rebel helicopter.
- Can be found at the same above Military bases in Medici, after they've been liberated.
- Can be found on helipads in military facilities.
- Appears with snipers during some settlement liberations.
- Unlocked for Rebel drop after liberating Cima Leon: Centcom.
Trivia[]
- It's built by the fictional company CS.
- By purpose and size, it can be seen as a successor to the HH-22 Savior and H-62 Quapaw.
- Its name may be a reference to the De Havilland Comet, the first jet-powered passenger plane.
- There is a camera and winch on the front and right side of the helicopter respectively which seem to have no use to Rico.
- If all snipers have been killed in the helicopter, the chopper will not fly away/retreat. It will just stay there, and chase Rico (although not hurting him) until he deals with it.
- The successor to this vehicle in Just Cause 4 is the Dropzone Chopper.
- If for some reason combatants wielding weapons other than sniper rifles and RPGs spawn in this chopper (either by a glitch or modding), they won't fire at their enemies.
