Collectable Items in San Esperito

Description[]

There are about 15 different sets of collectable items in San Esperito. You can keep track of them on the PDA.

Obtaining a new one will start a "collect mission". This is not like a usual mission, so you can still save the game and do other missions before finishing. See also: Types of missions in Just Cause.

Some of these items are located in extremely unrealistic positions. For example, one of the blueprints a Company courier lost is on the hand of the giant statue of Salvador Mendoza, something that would very likely not go unnoticed.

One of the Agency black boxes is located on a cliff near Agency 01 Camp base. In reality, a black box hanging on a cliff side is extremely unpractical unless it fell onto something that caught it.

Purpose[]

Each successful mission will give you a different number of progress points with either the Guerrillas, or the Rioja Cartel. This will improve your rank in their armies and unlock new safehouses and different vehicles at your safehouses.

Finding them[]

Finding them is easy, because they're all marked on the map as blue dots.

All the different types of items look completely different: wooden crates; briefcases; realistic aircraft black boxes (link to wikipedia) and more.

Item Location	The salt refinery is located on a separate island at the northern end of San Esperito. You will get a low level of government Heat for crossing the bridge, but there's no law enforcement on the island. See the video at the bottom of the page.
Item Description	Wooden crates.

Mission Start Info	The Montanos have stashed ten packages of pharmacy-grade coca in the salt refinery next to the El Grande prison. Find them all.
Mission End Info	None, other than any faction promotion that the points give.

Item Description	Cases with rifle scopes in them.

Mission Start Info	A guerrilla plane has dropped ten boxes of tactical rifle scopes into the ocean. They have been washed up on the beaches of the Isabella islands. Find them all.

Item Location	Santa Isabella.
Item Description	Briefcases.

Mission Start Info	Help the Guerrillas find five supply briefcases that were recently stolen by some local gangsters. The briefcase are spread out among the markets of Santa Isabella.
Mission End Info	Your rank with the Guerrillas is slightly elevated.

Faction	Guerrillas.
Item Location	In the middle of jungles, mostly near crashed Huerta SPA Ocelots.
Item Description	These look like real aircraft "black boxes" (data recorders). Reddish flat box 3" x 7" x 12", spinning on its long thin edge.

Mission Start Info	Ten Agency operatives are MIA in San Esperito. They have left their "black box" digital recording devices behind. The Agency wants the intel back.

The Cleavage[]

Item Location	On and between the two peaks of Mount Talano and Mount Gabriel in Durango
Item Description	Crates of coca.
# of Items	8.
Mission Start Info	A small plane loaded with coca has been shot down in the cleavage between Mount Teleno and Mount Gabriel. Find all 8 crates of coca to elevate in rank with the Riojas.
Mission End Info	Your time spent in The Cleavage should be reward enough.
Points per Item	30. After collecting all of them, you are promoted (along with unlocking a new safehouse), presuming you extract to the "Eagle's Nest" safehouse directly after unlocking it.

Slippery when wet[]

Item Location	On the beaches of the island at whose heart is El Volcan.
Item Description	Cubical crates of coca.

Mission Start Info	The Riojas have been forced to dump a cargo of coca. The shipment has now been washed up on the shores surrounding the volcano.
