The CommLink is the Just Cause 3 version of the PDA.

It's the screen on the grappler.
Description[]
The CommLink is a multi-function electronic device integrated into Rico's grappler. It has a small, curved screen (probably a touch-sensitive screen, because there are no buttons) and the map can be seen when it is not in other use.
In-game, the CommLink acts as a menu for the player, with five primary features: The map, rebel drop, gear mods, leaderboards and progress.
In the mission Friends Like These..., it is said that The Agency has given CommLinks to all the rebels in exchange for unknown favors in the future, likely to keep them in line if/when they gain power in Medici. It is unknown how theirs work, or what they look like, as rebels are never seen wearing or using them.
Uses[]
- It can open the Map of Medici, which marks:
- All settlements in Medici and all chaos objects required for liberation that are located in the settlements. Any marked settlements can be fast traveled to.
- Missions (as long as there are any).
- Challenges.
- Collectable items in Medici.
- Fast travel flares and rebel drop beacons.
- Rebel drop.
- Gear mods.
- Game progress, including:
- Percentage of overall game progress.
- Percentage of settlements liberated.
- Collectibles.
- Unlocked vehicles.
- Statistics.
- Di Ravello tapes.
- DLC progress.
- Pick up General's News Network and other radio transmissions.
Trivia[]
- In previous games in the Just Cause game series, the CommLink is called the PDA.
- The CommLink cannot be used on Boom Island.
- In some DLC missions, the CommLink appears to have an app which allows users to make video calls, similar to the real-world apps FaceTime or Skype.
