The Cow Gun is a weapon and Easter Egg in Just Cause 4.

Appearance[]

Its shape does not look very special as it resembles a typical rifle save for the black and white cow print on it.

Performance[]

The cow gun is a semi-automatic rifle which turns any person shot with it into a cow. It causes no damage and does not cause citizens to flee. It can also turn cows into Sebastiano Di Ravello. This does not harm them or cause them to flee either. The gun has no effect on other animals. However, if used on a Demon, it will yield a so-called “cow demon”, an unholy abomination. If you wish to create one, be prepared. The only positive side of creating this monstrosity is that the player can unlock the "Moocifier" achievement, awarded for creating a demon-cow. When firing, it makes a unique sound that sounds like a "ping".

The cow gun's secondary fire turns Rico into a cow. You can still drive vehicles and parachute/wingsuit while in cow form.

Unlike the DK Pistol, the easter egg weapon in JC3, firing the cow gun while in view of authorities (in this case the Black Hand) will give Rico heat.

This is the only handheld weapon with infinite ammunition that Rico can find outside of missions.

Location[]

JC4 Cow Gun location map

Located on the porch of a farm at this location.

Go to the relative north-east area of the Vaivenes region (south-westernmost region in Solís). Then, look for a large highway/bridge on the map. On the map, a small farmland is shown somewhere south-west of the highway. Look for the gun on the porch of a small farm house there. The gun looks like a rifle but with a black and white "cow skin" pattern on it.

Trivia[]

  • Some previous games in the series have also had easter egg weapons:
    • Machete - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause. This weapon is only seen in at a unique hidden location.
    • Happy Bubble Blaster - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause 2. This weapon deals no damage.
    • DK Pistol - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause 3. It inflates the heads of anyone they hit, but can't deal damage.
    • Kousavá - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause 3. This is a fan-designed weapon that is also DLC.
    • The Dragon - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause 4. This is a fan-designed weapon that is also DLC.
    • Tendrilizer - Similarly unique weapon in Just Cause 4. It is added in the Los Demonios DLC.
  • This weapon is required to be used for two achievements.
