This is a list of drones and robots in Just Cause 4.

JC4 Black Hand base with large artillery and helicopters

Artwork of an Illapa base with two of the biggest kind of cannons. These are called Defense Cannons.

For the purpose of this list, all automated weapons with some degree of artificial intelligence are included as well, even if they do not fit the stereotypical UAV image.

For a similar list for Just Cause 3, see List of eDEN drone types.

Common description[]

Most of these are small armed aircraft, but there are also a number of automated turrets.

Many of them do not have in-game names (unless named in the AR scan).

Unlike in JC3, where drones were first introduced to the Just Cause game series, this time there are 3 factions that possess them.

Black Hand common UAVs[]

These are made at Prospero Robótica, a factory that has some of each type.

PR83 Attack Drone[]

Main article: PR83 Attack Drone.

This is the simplest drone, used to guard Surveillance Airships, some bases, and rarely show up during heat. They are armed with machine guns and grenades. They can be quite annoying, but rarely pose a large threat to the player, unless they come in swarms. Combined with their small size and agility, the drones' constant movement and position changing makes them difficult to hit, so using the retractors to slam them into a solid surface is a more viable option then wasting ammunition on them.

Upon capturing Prospero Robótica (which is made possible from Rico's Robótica Raid), the Army of Chaos captures the drones and repaints them in the graffiti color scheme. It is also available in supply drop after securing the Hamparas region.

PR17 Rocket Drone[]

Main article: PR17 Rocket Drone.

This is larger, more armored, and better armed twin rotor drone. The AR scan reveals that they are armed with a machine gun. However, they shoot glowing red projectiles that explode, so they likely use some form of incendiary ammunition. The drones are surprisingly tough, and can soak up a large amount of small-arms fire. They are weak to "heavy" and explosive weapons, but in the absence of such, retractor-induced collision will also make them explode. In addition to showing up at Prospero Róbotica, they are also sent after Rico at medium to high heat. The explosive rounds combined with the somewhat heavy armor of the drone make them quite a nuisance, and sometimes even a significant threat, especially if the player is on foot and without heavy-hitting weapons. In armored vehicles, they are more of an annoyance than a threat, as the incendiary rounds won't do much against heavy armor.

These are also used by Army of Chaos forces at Prospero Robótica (after Robótica Raid) in a repainted color scheme, but this is the only place you will find them in AoC livery. A friendly AoC version can also be called in from the supply drop after completing the mission the Beachhead. They can be a real help in infantry combat situations, especially when the player is in some mission that requires them to stay in an area while exposed to enemies from all sides. The explosive rounds kill footsoldiers easily, and the drone will distract enemies and divert their fire.

PRS Suicide Drone[]

Main article: PRS Suicide Drone.

Small drone that only appears at Prospero Robótica. This drone has no weapons and attacks by flying into its target and exploding. Before Robótica Raid, they are only able to be seen in the standard Black Hand black and red faction colors. After the mission, they are still in Black Hand colors, but fight for the Army of Chaos.

Weapon-deployed drones[]

RG-PBA 9 Railgun drone ("Guard Drone")[]

Main article: Guard Drone.

This could be partially Cut game content from Just Cause 4, but see the article for more on that. It is launched from the RG-PBA 9 Railgun.

This is a lightly armored drone, armed with only a machine gun. It has three rotors unlike any other drone in the game. This is only ever seen in use with the Black Hand (and the drone is only in Black Hand faction colors).

It can be considered the successor to the Light drone from Just Cause 3's Sky Fortress DLC.

SW7-PBA Assault Rifle drone[]

Actual name is unknown, but it's launched from the SW7-PBA Assault Rifle.

This drone is very similar to the drone launched by the RG-PBA 9 Railgun, except it has two rotors. Like the drone from the railgun, this one is black and red. Since this can't be seen in use with either faction, only Rico Rodriguez is ever seen using the drone if he wants to.

It seems to reuse the same drone model as the PR83 Attack Drone.

Bullshark Assault Rifle drone[]

Actual name is unknown, but it's launched from the Bullshark Assault Rifle / Renegade Drone Rifle.

This rifle's Secondary Fire launches a futuristic black and white drone. Apparently, this DLC rifle uses the same weapon model as the SW7-PBA Assault Rifle and fires the exact same drone as the above, the only difference being a different black-and-white color scheme and a more futuristic texture. Only Rico can be ever seen using it if he wants to (if it is purchased).

Hamilton UAV-7 Drone[]

This spawns around the Agency submarines, but can also be deployed by the Yellowstone Auto Sniper. See the Agency section below.

List of Black Hand automated turrets[]

These are made at Prospero Torretas, a factory that has some of each type.

  • Defense Cannons - These have a very long barrel. They are believed to be some kind of railguns and are used to guard the largest bases. These are indestructible, but are eventually taken over by the Army of Chaos when the region strike for whatever base is completed. These cannons do not ever change their color.
  • Turret (JC4) - There are also some roughly cube-shaped turrets that are armed with missiles (strangely marked as "mortar") and a railgun. They have two panels which have to be pulled off in order to destroy their internal components. After their internal components are destroyed, they will blow up. None ever respawn except for the ones at Prospero Torretas, where the turrets respawn under Army of Chaos control.

List of Agency UAVs[]

Agency drones are a part of the Danger Rising DLC.

  • Some are small and armed with a single machine gun. They seem very similar to their Black Hand equivalents.
  • Some are about the size of a small car. These are Hamilton UAV-7s. See below.

Hamilton UAV-7[]

The name is revealed only on a loading screen that mentions it.

It resembles a PR17 Rocket Drone, but with a minigun instead of miniature red rockets. It also appears to be much more durable than other drones, capable of taking two "standard" explosive impacts. Besides spawning around the submarines, usually with pesky agents standing on top of them, the Yellowstone Auto Sniper's secondary fire deploys this. The Yellowstone-deployed Hamilton can be remote controlled by the player; see the weapon's article for more information regarding this.

Agency automated turrets[]

These are a part of the Danger Rising DLC.

These are identical to some Black Hand turrets, but they have Agency faction colors and symbols. In addition, they are no longer invulnerable to damage, because they don't have armor panels over their fragile components.

Huntsman SAM Launcher[]

Main article: SAMs in Solís.

While not a drone, these are completely automated, so it makes sense to mention them in this article. They are automatic air defense systems that launch homing/guided missiles at hostile aircraft.
