The USS Statesman is a stationary vehicle and base in Just Cause 4. This submarine is added in the Danger Rising DLC.

Name[]

  • The name of the submarine is "USS Statesman", which corresponds to the naming system of U.S. Navy ships, where "USS" stands for "United States Ship".
  • The ship is marked on the in-game map by its number "SOC-5TMN", which is also painted on the sides of the tower. This seems to be like the ships license plate. All real nautical craft have one, but for real U.S. navy ships it's normally a simple up to 4-digit number.
    • Most submarines are a "SFO-[something]", but the USS Statesman is a "SOC-[something]". These might stand for "Submarine/Submersible/Special Forward/Front Operations" and "Submarine/Submersible/Special Operations Command".

Description[]

The submarine is just as big as the others, about 760 meters long and 230 meters wide at the rear wingtips.

This is one of three submarines that comes with an unnamed supporting ship. The others are USS Conquest and USS Westward.

This is the command ship and flagship of the submarine fleet.

Tom Sheldon mentions that Miller has not set up any infrastructure here, so the submarine only has its own defenses. This is not completely accurate, since surely the submarine wouldn't normally sail around with all the massive doors open and a system of "electro-mag cables" going around the outside.

Uniquely, this submarine has 16 "conduits" throughout the inside and outside. These are referred to as "weak points" by the mission objective and rightfully so, since once they're all triggered and destroyed, it makes the whole submarine explode. The wreckage will float in the area forever.

Weapons and vehicles[]

Location[]

East of Aeropuerto General Benitez. This submarine in its intact form only appears during the mission Rogue Agent.

Trivia[]

  • The fact that its designation is SOC-5TMN sets it apart from the other Agency submarines by the naming. All other Agency submarines start with SFO.
    • The C likely stands for Command as the flagship.
    • Like all the other Agency submarines, the submarine designation is similar to its name. The letters correspond to the letters, while 5 is similar to S. However in real life this would look very unusual.
  • This is the only submarine that is properly "destroyed," as the other Agency submarines are still *relatively* intact.
