Firebrand is a faction in the cancelled Just Cause: Mobile.
Description[]
Like Darkwater, their existence in the game was revealed in an article from some sort of Square Enix press. They are The Agency's "secret program". The player character is a member of the program.
A community manager from Square Enix later revealed on Discord that the player will be playing as a new recruit of this "special division". Apparently, Darkwater - an armed faction formed of ex-Black Hand forces - is now a major threat to the Agency. The Agency formed Firebrand to combat them.
Training base at Asteria Mountains[]
It's unknown where this is, or even if Asteria is a nation, or region with in a nation. The Prologue Mission is mostly set at this location. This place is only known to have jungle.
Members[]
- The protagonist, who is a Firerband agent. The player can choose their appearance and name. The following are presumably some presets in the trailer, or specific skins:
- Mustached guy with black and partially blonde hair. He wears what appears to be black and partially green metallic body armor (strange considering in modern body armor systems, metal is rendered more or less obsolete by lighter, more flexible materials such as Kevlar) and a coat. He has been featured in the center of many trailer shots. He dual wields SMGs in the first two trailers.
- Muscular man. He wears a green armor vest over a white T-shirt. In the trailer, he holds an assault rifle.
- Small black-haired woman. She wears a black jacket. In the trailer, she wields a not-so-small machine gun.
- Young woman with blonde hair. She wears what appears to be light body armor. In the trailer, she is seen holding a big RPG.
- Several more that are not featured as prominently as the above four.
- Carmen, director of Firebrand.
- Harper. Job unknown.
Equipment and uniform[]
Initially, the action heroes seen in the trailer were thought to be Firebrand agents. They are probably optional protagonist skins.
For the protagonist, standard equipment is similar to Rico's signature gear, although the function of the equipment is somewhat different. This includes the grappler, parachute and wingsuit. They dress very oddly and casually and don't seem to have any sort of military uniform at all. Some of them wear body armor and others don't.
Harper has a grappler and presumably a parachute as well.
As for all other assumed Firebrand NPCs, they are only seen with small arms.
As seen in some promotional materials, the player can customize the appearance of their character. This includes clothing, armor and weapons. It's unknown if the bodyarmor actually provides additional protection, or if it's just for appearance.
Trivia[]
- There is a chopper from Just Cause 4 with a similar name: Firebrand Scout Chopper.
- It's strange that Firebrand possesses wingsuits. The wingsuit was designed by Dimah in Just Cause 3, and as far as this wiki knows, she only ever made one for Rico's personal use. Dimah used to work for the Agency, but she stopped doing so before the beginning of Just Cause 3, and never came back to the Agency before her death.
- It's possible she left blueprints for the wingsuit before she left The Agency, but this is unknown.
