The Fishing Boat is a vehicle in Just Cause 4.
See Fishing boat (disambiguation) for any other fishing boats and ships.
Appearance[]
Despite the name, it's actually big enough to count as a ship. This type of fishing ship is designed for the deployment and collection of big nets and for the storage of a lot of fish in its cargo hold.
The main deck is higher at the front and there are stairs connecting the areas of the ship. The captains cabin is on the higher front area.
All the ships are marked as "JZ149", as a reoccurring license plate and "Vincent", as a reoccurring name. There's also a depth scale near the front at both sides with numbers from 13 to 18, but it's unknown what units those are meant to be.
The hull is always high enough out of water that it indicates that the cargo hold is empty.
The whole ship is always tilted back, unless going at full reverse.
The cranes are clean and may be either yellow, or white, but the rest of the ship is always rusty.
There's only one propeller, but two throttles on the dashboard, so there might be two engines powering the same one.
All the windows are darkened.
Equipment on the ship[]
- The middle of the ship has two cranes for lifting fish nets. Their frame forms a mast.
- 2 non-functional inflatable liferafts in their plastic containers, on the right side of the front area.
- 4 orange lifebuoys, connected to the outer walls of the cabin.
- The rear edge of the ship has 3 rolls of fish nets. These rolls can be rotated by the player.
- 18 blue balloons and 4 tires hanging over the edges. These can be used to prevent damage when the ship is at a dock, but similar balloons can also be used to suspend a net by its edge.
- 2 radar antennas. 1 on the cabin roof and the other at the top of the mast.
- 4 of some kind of spear-like buoys, connected to the left side of the rear area.
- 1 blue bucket, connected to the rear wall of the cabin.
- 2 crates. 1 at the right front corner of the rear area and 1 at the front of the cabin.
- 2 ladders built into the hull exterior on both sides of the front area. They only go down to the loaded waterline and are probably meant for use at a dock.
Performance[]
Forward speed is 31 knots (57.4 km/h) and reverse speed is 25 knots (46.4 km/h), which is slow in comparison to most other boats, but is excellent for a ship like this.
The windows will break from 2 bullets each.
Locations[]
- At multiple river-side villages in the rainforest biome.
- Descansito.
- Casa Mayu.

- Can be unlocked for the supply drop by driving it through a ring at Descansito.
Trivia[]
- It was seen in the first trailer for Just Cause 4.
- Just Cause 4 reuses many Just Cause 3 vehicle models. This one is a near exact copy of the Whaleshark.
Glitches[]
Main article: Just Cause 4 Bugs and glitches.
- The radar antenna on the mast can change color from black to blue depending on the angle it's views from.
- The rudder is very weirdly connected. When used it swings multiple meters to either side and comes out from under the ship. If the ship is stuck on anything, the unusual rudder motion can actually be used to move the ship.
