The GE-64 is a plantable demolition explosive in Just Cause 3.

Description[]

GE-64 explosives are devices comparable to stereotypical anti-vehicle landmines in appearance, having a circular plate, three appendages and a single warning light.

GE-64s are given to Rico in the mission Time For An Upgrade by Dimah. From then on, they are always carried by Rico. Dimah claims to have invented them and explains that they are powered by Bavarium.

Features[]

GE-64s are adhesive. If thrown while Rico is parachuting, they will stick to whatever they come into contact with. They can only be placed if the target is only a meter away. Rico has an infinite inventory for them, though the number of placed explosives at any given moment by default is limited to 3. The explosions seem to be more powerful than a "standard" one, able to easily destroy targets like Urga Bkolos 2100, Urga Szturm 63A and various Chaos Objects in one hit.

E-64s can be further customized by a Gear Mods. A popular example is an upgrade that delays their detonation adds a propulsion effect, which can be used to pull off stunts. Others include a safety feature that prevents detonation while within vicinity, a proximity fuse that allows it to detect enemies and detonate automatically, as well as well as expanding the placement limit to five.

On consoles GE-64 is selected by pressing down on the D-Pad.

On PC, GE-64 is selected by pressing Caps Lock.

Attempting to detonate GE-64s when none are placed will prompt a horn sound.

  •  PS4    Xbox One   Occasionally, the GE-64s can somehow disappear from Rico's inventory. Restarting the game seems to fix this.
  •  Xbox One   Finishing a Jet Wingsuiting challenge from the Sky Fortress DLC can somehow remove the GE-64s from Rico's inventory permanently.
