The ghost ship (actual name unknown) is an easter egg in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
As a ghost ship, the ship is made of transparent matter, so it is advised to go there at night when it glows. (Use the Avalanche Studios Deck Chairs to pass time faster.) The ship is always surrounded by a cloud of smoke/fog in the same green/blue color as the ship.
This ship is a 3-masted 14th to 16th century carrack-type sailing ship. Similar ship types are fluyt and nau (actually a type of large carrack). The Flying Dutchman myth is from the era of ships like this.
The ship is initially mostly under water, but once Rico approaches, there is a sound of a church bell being rang once and then the ship rises out of water and floats entirely above the water. It stays up and keeps slowly moving back/forth and up/down a little. If the player leaves, the ship sinks again. If this is done repeatedly, the ship may sink to a lower depth and stay there until the player leaves to a larger distance.
The only accessible room is the place where sails would be stored (sailing ships had spare sails). There is a crate of cannon balls, a wooden chest and a skeleton with a 3-corner hat.
Once on the ship, Rico gets a period-accurate sailor look, with a 3-corner hat known as "tricorne", a hook for his left hand and grappler, and a wooden right leg from the knee joint. Rico's footprints with the wooden leg will not be tracked, so only his left footprint is shown. These items stay with Rico anywhere he goes, but they disappear in a small cloud of black smoke at the moment of dawn.
The ship has 2 flags, but there are no symbols or stripes on them.
Location[]
At the northern beach of the most northern island of the Islas Machaqwayes region (east coast of Solís).
