This article may seem complete to the untrained eye, but the gaps in information are still large enough for this elite team of Panauan Ninjas to hide inside of. |

Helicopter Hangaround is a Reapers mission in Just Cause 2.
Introduction[]
The description from the PDA map states:
- "The Reapers are stockpiling some illegal contraband in a silo outside of Tasik Jernih village. Now they have found out that the government are preparing an air raid on this silo."
- "Reapers leader Bolo Santosi needs someone to take care of the military helicopters before they can destroy the silo. They are stationed at the Tanah Lebar base."
Bolo Santosi explains that one of her spy prostitutes (working with military officials) has discovered that the military is about to destroy 3 special silos that belong to the Reapers. She wants you to stop them because the silos don't contain ordinary grain.
You are provided with a Submachine Gun and a Sivirkin 15 Havoc. Make sure that you don't park a helicopter on the landing pad, at the mission trigger, before you start the mission. Otherwise, it'll explode when the game spawns the Sivirkin 15 Havoc at the same spot.
Walkthrough[]
Fly to the Tanah Lebar airbase to find the helicopters. They will manage to take off before you arrive, so you must intercept and destroy them before they destroy a silo. Approach the helicopter objective from a low angle. The three choppers will line up nicely as they take off and you'll be able to get two, if not all three before they even leave the area.
If however, the choppers reach the silo, all it takes is a little damage from the Havoc to divert their attention from the silo to you. While the Havoc is armored, fire from up to 6 miniguns can still heavily damage the helicopter, so it may take more than entry-level piloting skill.
An easy way is when the choppers take off fly straight to the silo and take them out as they arrive.

Trivia[]
- Before you fly off into the sunset yourself, return to the base they took off from and light it up: There is a colonel out in the open. Taking him out now will make your life much easier when you return there for Death from Above, assuming you didn't do that mission yet.
- The silo is actually a seemingly usual Oil Cistern. When the mission is complete, the cistern will disappear, leaving no trace of having been there.
- The exact content of the silo remains unknown.
- This raises several questions, including how many other Oil Cisterns are actually grain silos and what kind of grain do they contain?
- Another interesting question is how did the Reapers obtain such a helicopter, with rocket pods even? There is only one place in Panau where the Sivirkin 15 Havoc with rocket pods spawns: Pasir Hitam. Surely some Reaper grunt or elite could not have made a daring attempt to steal that helicopter, and even if they do that, the military would most likely have sent air support to recapture it... hopefully Bolo has more of these kamikazes if she has any. That being said, the base does have no SAMs, so there wouldn't be much resistance besides small arms fire from the ground.
- There are several things exclusive to this mission.
- This is the only time you are provided a Sivirkin 15 Havoc that is not owned by the Agency.
- While the Agency ones are not marked with any logos, this Sivirkin 15 Havoc is also the only one without markings that is not Agency property.
- The silo is the only one that has markings of any kind. There is a Reapers logo next to the numbers.
- This mission is also the only time the silo appears there.
- The three UH-10 Chippewas that take off from the base do not spawn there normally. They only spawn in this mission. Strangely, they take off from the runway tarmac and not the helipads.
