Comments from Mats Lundgren[]
When reached out for music sheets, Mats Lundgren stated that "the Just Cause 2 theme is actually one of the first tunes I wrote for any videogame." (See complete email to the right.) Furthermore, Mats Lundgren does not hold or possess any of the original music sheets to the Just Cause 2 soundtrack.
Reverse-engineering the music[]
This section is a work in progress.
As previously mentioned, Mats Lundgren does not have the original music sheets for the Just Cause 2 Soundtrack. However, when listening by ear, anyone with a trained ear or is an intermediate skillset can identify the frets being played. While it is a good substitute of the original tablature, no one could truly match the original without seeing it.
For example, if you want to play the "MissionStart.wav" song on an electric guitar, you will place your middle finger on the 7th fret of the A cord and your index finger on the 5th fret of the same cord. Pick the 7th fret and lift your middle finger and hold your index finder down on the fifth fret and pick the A string again. After that, place your middle finger down on the 7th fret and pick it, and swiftly lift your middle finger from the 7th fret to the 9th fret and pick it. This can be done on the bass guitar as well, but it will be a lower octave.
