Kampung Bahari is a religious settlement and faction Stronghold in Just Cause 2.
Description[]
The village belonged to the Ular Tribe, who developed centuries ago. The location is used as a grave site and as a temple. The large outer temples are still intact, but the burial temple further up the hill is in ruins since long ago.
The inner area consists of a lot of different temples. There are two very large temples in the area, and between these two of the usual small Buddhist temples can be found. At the upper area the ruins of the ancient burial temple can be found, and on the top of the hill a very small temple with a shrine can be found. This is also where the Stronghold terminal is located.
The outer village looks like a common village in West Tanah Raya but isn't restricted, unlike the temple area. The only objects, which have been implemented are:
- Two SAMs (note that these SAMs are special and won't shoot at you after this location is taken over).
- Guard Towers.
- Concrete gates.
- One Generator.
- One Broadcast Tower.
- One Pandak "Baby" Panay Statue, which stands in the courtyard between the two large buildings.
This creates an almost movie-like scenario, with a shootout inside a pristine temple.
"Kampung Bahari" is Malay and Indonesian for "Nautical Village", probably referencing its location on the coast.
There are two miniguns found here, but only one is used against Rico.
Mission[]
Prelude[]
The location has always been a goal for pilgrims and is considered holy. Recently, it was demanded for demolition by the president, who was probably planning a new resort there. Sri Irawan thinks that is sacrilege and the Ular Tribe cannot accept that.
Retaking the village[]
This stronghold is one of two stronghold takeovers which does not take place in a military base.
A Ular Boys technician along with three Ular Boys elites plus Rico land outside the village. After clearing out the main gate, one of the temples is "cleansed". After the first temple, two snipers are eliminated. After they are killed, another temple is cleared out. After that, a MV Quartermaster and MV V880 attempt to stop Rico and the four in vain. Rico then eliminates the mounted gunner and remaining forces near the back of the village.
After killing all the Panau Military forces inside, the military call for reinforcements via a H-62 Quapaw. After the paratroopers are all killed, the stronghold commander arrives in an UH-10 Chippewa. After he is killed, the Ular Boys successfully take the settlement over.
Completion[]
The rewards for 100% are 3000 Chaos points and $7500.
- 1 Pandak "Baby" Panay Statue.
- 1 Broadcast Tower.
- 1 Generator.
- 1 Gas Station across the road.
- 2 SAMs, which don't count towards the completion of this stronghold after Pilgrimage and will shoot at government aircraft (after you've taken this place over), but do count towards the total amount of SAMs destroyed.
- 6 Resource items:
- 1 Weapon Part.
- 3 Vehicle Parts (1 is near the gas station).
- 1 Armor Part.
- 1 Cash Stash.
Trivia[]
- The buildings in the village are based on traditional building of Batak culture of North Sumatra, also known as "Bolon House".
