This article lists misplaced map icons in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
With a limited number of available map icons, it makes sense that some would be mislabeled. This practice started in Just Cause 2, but no other game in the Just Cause game series has as many misused icons as JC4. And not only are there misused map icons, but many settlements are completely left unmarked while in other places a single farm can be misidentified as a town, or a town can be described as a farm, or a village can be described as a Black Hand facility, and vice versa.
The game has no coordinates on the map, which hinders navigation inconveniently.
Should have a "Black Hand Facility" icon[]
Location name | Description | Marked as a |
---|---|---|
Aeropuerto Nueva Voz | While it is not a military base, there is Black Hand infrastructure, and many Black Hand troops patrol the airfield before the Army of Chaos secures the region. Aeropuerto General Benítez is listed as a base, so it makes logical sense. | City/town |
Campamento Mara | Similar to Aeropuerto Nueva Voz, this location is not a military base, but is still deserving of the icon. Black Hand infrastructure is dotted around the area, and Black Hand operatives can be seen walking around here. | City/town |
Esclusa Cuenca | This place has lots of Black Hand infrastructure, is guarded by many Black Hand operatives, and the description specifies this place as a "Military Lock". | City/town |
Helipuerto Kunka | The description states, "A Black Hand heliport that launches patrols throughout Kunka." | City/town |
Helipuerto Urqu | The description states, "A Black Hand heliport that launches patrols throughout Urqu Verde." | Landmark |
Los Molinillos | It is stated as an "Espetrol investment" and has Black Hand infrastructure. | City/town |
Mercadito. | Though the description states "A small but prosperous market is the center of this Arena community." When you actually visit the place, it looks exactly like a Black Hand outpost so the description is actually wrong too. | City/town |
Puesto Guardia Batalla | It follows the naming scheme of some of the other outposts, the description states: "A Black Hand outpost tasked with maintaining peace throughout the Gran Batalla region.", but most notably, it's an outpost. | City/town |
Should have a "City/town" icon[]
Location name | Description | Marked as a |
---|---|---|
Aguaclara | The description says: "This service area is a welcome stop for commuters from Aeropuerto General Benítez and Armadillo Blindados." | Black Hand facility |
Loma Linda | In its description, it is stated as a "pleasant town" and is right across from Casas de los Pilotos. | Landmark |
Suyana | It's clearly a village. | Black Hand facility |
Templo del Cielo | It's speculated that this place could have been planned as a train station similar to Estación Tranquila. | Black Hand facility |
Pikwayu | It's a small village on the beach. | Landmark |
Pueblo Kullu | It's a good-sized town. The sawmill is decent portion of the town, but it's devoid of any military presence. | Black Hand facility |
T'ira-Kuni | Small village. | Landmark |
Other[]
Location name | Description | Marked as a | Should be a |
---|---|---|---|
Cueva de los Susurros | This place is a cave, with winding tunnels and water. There are no signs of human activity (apart from Mr. Snowman, if he even is human-made). | Ancient Ruin | Landmark |
Waqar | This place is a very small village and marked as a city/town. There are plenty of other settlements around it that could easily contain this small settlement as part of its influential territory and there are a number of other settlements and points of interest throughout Solís that are at least 10 times larger than this place that are unmarked. Not having co-ordinates and having a number of unmarked locations is super inconvenient. | City/town | Some kind of a tiny farm, or village. |
Doña Cosme | It is unknown why this settlement is marked at all. There are likely a hundred other farms in the area, some of which are significantly larger than this one. | City/town | Some kind of farm. |
Granja Toque Dorado | Area with multiple points of interest. | City/town | Some kind of area. |
Puquchi | Area with 4 villages. | Village | Some kind of area. |
Sitio Picos Nevados | Outpost to facilitate research of nearby ancient statues. | Black Hand outpost. | Civilian research outpost, or science facility. |
Puesto Beta | Weather monitoring outpost. | City/town | Civilian research outpost, or science facility. |
