The Machine Gun (according to HUD) also known as .50 Cal Machine Gun (according to AR scan) is a weapon in Just Cause 4.
For any other similar weapons see: See Minigun (disambiguation) and Mounted Gun.
Description[]
The .50 Cal machine gun is the type of electric multi-barreled rotary machine gun that is commonly called a "minigun". It can be mounted to vehicles as well as used from its own tripod.
The mounted minigun also has a bulletproof shield in front of it, which protects most of the user from incoming gunfire (but not explosives). When found, it normally has the barrels pointing down, but it maintains its angle after use.
The ".50 cal" refers to the ammunition and caliber.
Performance[]
It has high damage and an extremely high rate of fire but fairly low accuracy.
This mounted minigun has by far the highest fire rate of all weapons in JC4. Although it has low accuracy while firing, the enormous amount of bullets fired ensure that some bullets will hit. The minigun is very effective against infantry - especially the toughest such as Titans or Colonels, who are hard to kill with gunfire - and lightly/unarmored vehicles as well as chaos objects. Its extremely high fire rate can make short work of multiple enemies. The minigun's fire rate combined with its damage can drop all Black Hand soldiers almost instantly, and take out Titans and Colonels in two to three seconds. In fact, the minigun's firepower is so great that it can even take out lightly armored vehicles such as the Warrior Offroader or even the Cavalry Armored Truck, but not tanks like the Warchief Assault Tank.
Locations[]
- At nearly every Black Hand base with few exceptions. The Army of Chaos repaints the miniguns once they capture the base.
- Rarely found at outposts as well.
- At the front.
Some helicopters have a rotary machine gun, but this article does not cover them. See Vehicle mounted weapons for a full list of vehicle weapons.
Trivia[]
- This weapon is the successor to the Minigun from Just Cause 2 and the Urga Vulkan from Just Cause 3.
