Description[]
It is an international auxiliary language called Interlingua which is largely based on Romance languages, but also includes words of Germanic origin (e.g. blau).
The language is never heard in conversation between Medicians, who prefer to speak English (or whichever other language the game has been localized to). However, it can be heard sung in the song "Iste Nocte Non Finira", the song that plays at DJ Santosi's rave and on someone's radio in Rondella.
According to one of the quotes over-heard from a discussion from the Black Hand in JC3, the language was invented in the 1960s to purposely merge several real languages.

Grammar[]
Medician largely adheres to Interlingua grammar, however, several words throughout the game are either misspelled or non-existant in Interlingua, suggesting that Medician could be a dialectal form of Interlingua. For example, words such as "accesible" and "disponible" would be "accessibile" and "disponibile" in proper Interlingua. Furthermore, words such as "garson" do exist in Interlingua, however the term "puero" is much more used in Interlingua, suggesting a dialectal preference over words in the Medician version of Interlingua, similarly the word "domo" for "house", used in Medici, tends to be used less frequently in Interlingua, with the word "casa" prevailing. A sign present in prisons across Medici makes an error in the phrase "Attention. Non Transversar. Maxima Pena: E2000 o novem mensem prison o ambes. Surveliantia Forte. Interdiction de photographar". While "novem" is a synonym of the more common Interlingua "nove" for "nine", "mensem" is a misspelling of the word "mense" in Interlingua, meaning "month". Hence, Medician may be a dialectal version of standard Interlingua.
Another major difference between standard Interlingua and Medician is the use of the articles "la" and "le" in Medician. Interlingua uses only one article, "le", which is gender neutral and remains the same for any word; e.g.: "le homine", "le granmatre". Accordingly, the Medician "de la" would be considered incorrect in Interlingua grammar, as it would correctly be "del", e.g. "Le casa del granmatre" rather than the Medician form "Le domo/La casa de la granmatre".
In the game Alessia also makes a grammatical error after the liberation of Costa Di Ravello, when she suggests renaming the town to "Costa Di Rico".
'Di' is the neutral Italian form for the word 'of' (indicating that Sebastiano Di Ravello is of Italian descent). The correct Interlingua construction is "Costa De Rico". But this may also mean that she suggests that the town should be translated into “The coast of Rico.
