Miguel Rodriguez is a character in Just Cause 4.
Personal info[]
He is the father of Rico Rodriguez. Rico remembers him as a kind man who wouldn't work for the likes of the Black Hand.
Career[]
Miguel Rodriguez was a major scientist involved in the "Project Illapa" for León Espinosa, specifically working on Zona Dos.
As explained by Lanza Morales, Miguel quit the project after Oscar Espinosa decided to weaponize it, causing a decade of setback.
Near the end of Operation Thunderbarge, Tom Sheldon successfully puts up some archive security footage from a concealed and deprecated Agency outpost. It turns out The Agency was involved with Project Illapa, and believes Miguel would become a liability. Oscar Espionsa however did not want Lanza to cease working and delayed Miguel's assassination until Lanza hears of Miguel's safe return, mentioning that he had Black Hand units stationed in Medici and that General Di Ravello is co-operating with The Agency. This corresponds with Day 1710 of Di Ravello's tapes, where he mentioned in order to satisfy The Agency's demands, he destroyed the Rodriguez Household and killed its occupants, but allowed Rico to be taken alive as an Agency recruit. When Rico was enraged and questioned Sheldon, the latter claims he too was new to The Agency at the time and only had orders to rescue Rico, being unaware of Project Illapa and Rico's family back then.
