Muñoz is a character in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
Not much is known about him. He holds the rank of colonel in the Black Hand, and might be something like a harbor master of Puerto Espada.
According to Sargento, if Espada Plunge is selected before Rico arrives at the dock, he is "a real hard-case".
When Rico finds him inside the loading bay, he will remark "Senor Muñoz, I presume." In his only line of dialogue, he will respond: "I've been looking forward to this, Rodriguez!"
Upon Rico killing him, he will say: ""El Maniaco" is dead."
Trivia[]
- Killing him is not mandatory. The mission will continue after successfully hacking the console even without defeating him, which is only possible if Muñoz is unable to shoot Rico while he is hacking the console to reveal the rigged vehicles. This can be accomplished by grappling him behind a corner somewhere, pushing him off the platform or by grappling a container or something to block the way. However, grappling him behind a corner can prove very difficult to do because trying to tether him will result in the tether breaking in seconds.
- By Muñoz's "El Maniaco" nickname, Muñoz is probably a brutal commander.
- By his only line of dialogue, it can safely be assumed Muñoz knew Rico before he was killed. However, it is unknown whether he knew him because of Rico's Army of Chaos' gains or before Solís. Should it be the latter, he would be one of the very few people besides Gabriela Morales who knew about Rico before he arrived in Solís.
- Saying a person's name, followed by ", I presume." is a reference to a famous greeting from a real event in the 19th century: "Dr. Livingstone, I presume?"
