Pekan Belalang is a settlement in Just Cause 2.
Description[]
The settlement is mostly a tourist beach resort. The southern part consists of the resort, while the northern part consists of a residential area for Panauan citizens. The name means "Grasshopper Town" in Malaysian and Indonesian.
Resort[]
Most of the resort consists of a lot of modern bungalows constructed on wooden piers. There are four main piers arranged in a symmetrical fashion, the two outermost having larger buildings and two bungalows with sofas and beach chairs on the deck outside, while the inner pair each contain a larger living area of 5 bungalows with a similar arrangement of sofas and beach chairs toward the sea. Up on a hill is what can be assumed as the main building overlooking the piers with large palms and a central garden that civilians seem to enjoy walking through. There's no direct access between the two parts of the resort other than walking down the hill and onto a flat dirt section. Civilian vehicles can spawn on this flat section, making it look like an unmarked road.
Residental Area[]
There's a small residential area for Panauan citizens to the north of the resort. It's possible that poor workers for the resort live here. It's made up of two sections of wooden cabins; one on the land and another slightly off the coast of the beach. This section features a small makeshift fishing dock, and isn't realistically accessible from the shore without one getting their feet wet. Around this area is a Propaganda Trailer and a small Panau Military checkpoint.
History[]
The resort settlement was a part of President Panay's plan of turning Panau into a playground for rich foreign tourists. In the plan for Senjakala Islands and Selatan Archipelago he erected a whole bunch of beach resorts and the luxury Three Kings Hotel. Foreign millionaires are being given more rights than average citizen of Panau.
