Prospero Tanques is a military base and factory in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
Quote from the map marker: "This factory was commandeered by the Black Hand to increase production. Half the factory manufactures armored trucks and artillery."
This is one of the largest and most well defended military facilities in Solís. Not only does it have the usual guard towers and soldiers, but the whole base is full of tanks and the surrounding desert is a minefield.
There are 2 road entrances and a very close railroad station, Estación Empolvados, acting as a third entrance by rail. The factory is connected to 3 other large nearby bases by high voltage power lines. (Mina Rocanegra, Prospero Torretas and Zona Uno.)
The base/factory consists of 3 large areas:
- The main road entrance area in the south-west, which has a few buildings and seems to mainly serve as a parking area for finished vehicles.
- The north-west area, which has a group of buildings.
- The main area in the east, which consists of several buildings, a parking lot for finished tanks and an underground area, which can be accessed by an elevator.
There's an additional minor area between the two production areas that has a shooting range for tanks. Here the finished tanks are being tested for weapons functionality. Strangely, all the tanks are being tested at only about 20 meter range, indicating that the Black Hand does not anticipate ever having to fight at greater ranges.
After take-over by the Army of Chaos, the factory remains in full production.
Vehicles[]
Most vehicles change their faction colors and symbols from Black Hand to Army of Chaos when the base is taken over, but most of the parked tanks remain in Black Hand colors.
- Ranchero Truck:
- Several are parked all over the base.
- Can be seen driving between the main production areas.
- Prizefighter Tank:
- Parked at multiple areas.
- Used at the shooting range.
- 1 in an underground area.
- Pointman Scout Tank:
- 2 are parked in the parking lot at the main area.
- 1 in an underground area.
- Falconer AA Tank - Probably also parked somewhere. Needs confirmation.
- Warchief Assault Tank:
- Parked at multiple areas.
- Used at the shooting range.
- One is always driving around the main area.
- Vagabundo Buggy - Parked in the main area.
- Cavalry Armored Truck - Parked in the main area.
- Some attack helicopter - Shows up during the mission Tanques Heist.
- Many drones show up during the mission Tanques Heist.
Completion[]
- 2x Speed Stunt -
- Pass through the ring faster than 95 km/h.
- Pass through the ring faster than 120 km/h.
- Wingsuit Stunt - Wingsuit through all rings in less than 15 seconds.
- Surveillance Airship.
- One of the stunts for Solís Pro Tour is at this base. This does not affect the completion of this base, but does contribute towards 200% completion of the game.
Trivia[]
- According to the official description, this factory is no longer run by Grupo Próspero, because the Black Hand have "commandeered" it. Officially it probably still belongs to Próspero, but is just managed by the Black Hand.
- As a development error, parts of Estación Empolvados overlaps into this base, despite not being part of the base at all.
- Originally, the elevator here could only be used during the mission Tanques Heist, after which it would despawn. This was later fixed in a patch, so the elevator remains functional forever.
