Rico's Signature Gun is a weapon in Just Cause 2.

Description

"Customized by The Agency and adapted for Rico's shooting style, this deadly accurate and powerful pistol packs a punch with precision, power and flair."

In appearance, Rico's Signature Gun is reminiscent of the Holdt R4 Pitbulls from the first Just Cause, albeit larger. In terms of power the weapon exceeds the Pitbulls by far, making it a lethal addition to Rico's arsenal.

Note that the two bullets on the pre-order picture are the .454 magnum cartridge and the 30mm grenade for the underslung launcher. This suggests that this gun can shoot both rounds and indeed the Signature Gun appears to have an underbarrel grenade launcher, but sadly it can only fire the .454 magnum cartridge like a normal revolver in the game. Naturally, this has caused some controversy within the community (particularly on the Eidos Forums).

Performance

It is much more powerful than the standard Pistol and costs as much as a normal Revolver, despite this, it is actually weaker than the revolver. It will kill grunts in two shots, though elites still require multiple shots to vanquish. It can fire 6 bullets before a reload and when bought, the gun comes with 90 rounds in total. This equates to just over $444 per round. Bullets for this gun cannot be found in the game, so once out of ammunition, the gun must be bought again.

Locations

It's available for free to the owners of the limited edition of Just Cause 2 and as DLC to others. Either way, to get this weapon, Rico still has to buy this weapon from the in-game Black Market for $40,000.

The DLC costs $1 USD, €1 EUR or £0.75 GBP when not on sale. Note that all prices may chance over time as currency values and store prices may change.

Trivia

• The "damage" bar in the Black Market says that the Signature Gun causes as much damage as a 6 star Rocket Launcher. This is incorrect.
  • Additionally, the "magazine size" bar is also incorrect, as it implies that the magazine size of Rico's Signature Gun is almost the same as a fully upgraded Machine Gun (41 rounds). It's actual magazine size is 6.
• Interestingly, the gun is available in the game Sleeping Dogs, alongside Rico's JC2 outfit, and the grenade launcher function is included.
