The SV-1007 Stonewall is an infantry fighting vehicle in Just Cause 2.

Appearance[]

It's a big 8-wheeled armored vehicle with mostly sloped armor. The drivers compartment is at the front, the engine is in the middle, a crew/troop compartment is at the rear. A driver-controlled gun-turret is on top of the rear compartment. The roof has multiple hatches and there are 2 shovels, 2 brown bags and multiple long brown sticks of unknown purpose mounted externally on the hull. The turret also has 6 grenade launchers, but these do not function.

The SV-1007 Stonewall shares its body with the SV-1003 Raider, with the only noticeable difference being its turret, which is identical to that of the smaller GV-104 Razorback, but it's missing the machine guns.

It can only be found in jungle camouflage.

It does not seem to be based on any specific real-life armored vehicle, but it does somewhat resemble the BTR-80 (wheels, side edge above the wheels and the 2 small ladders between the wheels) and a few others for the general layout of an 8x8 IFV with a troop door in the rear, mostly sloped armor and a gun turret: IAV Stryker, MOWAG Piranha 8x8 and the LAV-25A2.

Performance[]

The SV-1007's driving performance is identical to the SV-1003 Raider.

The SV-1007 is slow to accelerate and understeers at speed, but its weight also works in its favor with its large kinetic energy, as it is barely impeded by smaller vehicles and loose obstacles. Its armor is strong enough to absorb at least one "standard" explosion and can withstand a substantial amount of small arms fire, with the operator only being vulnerable from behind (the small crack in the rear door). It can survive a fall from any height.

Realistically, one would expect all 4 front wheels to turn, but only the 2 most forward wheels do so. This however doesn't seem to hinder the turning circle. Also of unusual note is the fact that only the 6 rear wheels are powered.

The Stonewall is armed with a turret-mounted driver-operated auto cannon. As one of the few vehicles equipped with such an immensely powerful weapon, the Stonewall is equally destructive as the GV-104 Razorback, as it can quickly land devastating rounds one after another, blowing up numerous sabotage destructible objects and enemies alike seconds apart while its armor buys it all the time it needs to get the job done.

Locations[]

The SV-1007 Stonewall is a somewhat rare vehicle, with only three spawn points.

Glitch[]

There is a glitch with the Stonewall located at Kem Udara Wau Pantas that causes the lights and engine of the vehicle to remain on long after Rico has exited. It is unknown whether or not the same glitch happens with the other Stonewalls.

Trivia[]

  • The vehicle is most likely named after Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson, a Confederate general in the the American Civil War. This would continue the custom from Just Cause of naming military vehicles after military leaders.
    • It may also be named this due to the fact that "stone wall" is a term used to describe something relatively tough, referring to its durability and armament.
  • As with several other armored vehicles in the game, there are no animations for stunt jumps or hijacking since Rico just teleports around.
  • This is probably the only military vehicle not featured in any mission. The SV-1003 Raider, its somewhat less powerful counterpart, is featured in at least two missions, albeit briefly.
  • This is the rarest Panauan Military land vehicle. As mentioned above, it only spawns at three locations, of which, only two of those locations are possible to drive out of.
  • This is also the only military vehicle not featured in any mission.
  • As the equivalent of a main battle tank in this game game, the SV-1007 Stonewall can be considered the spiritual successor to the Ballard M5B1 Scout from Just Cause, as well as the predecessor to the CS Odjur from Just Cause 3 and Warchief Assault Tank in Just Cause 4.
