The Salirosan Skramp, also known as just Skramp, is an easter egg in Just Cause 3 and easter egg in Just Cause 4.
Description[]
It is a small black dog with a blue cloth (in JC3), or yellow cloth (in JC4). It was revealed in one of the JC3 promotional vides that the dog is modelled after a real dog that belongs to one of the game developers.
The real dog has an Instagram account with many pictures. That account also reveals the breed as Brussels Griffon.
Location and Doge Mode easter egg in JC3[]
At Soliana there is a junkyard. At the junkyard (exact location in the junkyard may differ) is a small black puppy. The dog emits a small amount of black smoke, has flies above it and makes the sad dog noise. It will follow you if you stay close to it.
You will need to slowly bring the dog to the dog house on the other side of the road. Doing this puts a small notification on screen that says "You've discovered the elusive Salirosan Skramp. Doge Mode unlocked." It should be noted that upon taking the Skramp across, you will gain heat. (for some reason..)
Doge mode is useful for telling when an enemy is dead as memes only appear when an NPC takes damage, or when something blows up. NPCs cannot take damage when they are dead, providing a makeshift health bar for enemies.
The dog will spawn back at the junkyard if the player should return, but the notification will not be triggered again. "Doge" mode can be activated through the options menu and in gameplay settings.
Salirosa is one of the fictional island nations in the Just Cause Universe.
Locations in JC4[]
- The dog is encountered for the first time during the mission Operation Whiteout when Rico arrives at El Abismo. Afterwards, the dog remains in one of the middle areas at all times.
- The dog is always spawned when calling the '84 Sheepdog from the supply drop. This vehicle is a downloadable content for Just Cause 4 and a part of the "Shark and Bark vehicle pack".
- The game files have an unused icon for the dog, so evidently Skramp was at some point considered as an individual drop.
