I've come to a conclusion[]
The Just Cause Universe is set in a different universe than the current real world.
- Hantu Island has two Japanese Military soldiers operating miniguns. A 1930s to 40s era soldier operating a 70s era weapon is impossible, unless miniguns were around during World War II in this universe. If so, by the 21st century, there would probably be something along the lines of maybe a rapid fire weapon that could shoot well over 10000 rounds per minute.
- The map description for Griphon airbase is: "The lofty fortress of Griphon is one of Medici's largest military airfields. During the Cold War, Di Ravello reluctantly loaned out Griphon to his Western allies, and a contingent of NATO aircraft called the base home during the days of the Cuban Crisis." The problem is that Di Ravello could not have been a base commander, or head of the Medici Military in 1962, because he joined the military at the rank of private in 1995. Also, had he been at least a base commander in 1962 at the age of 18, he would be 71 years old during the missions of JC3.
- Some dates and days of the week in the timeline do not correspond to the same dates and days of the week in reality. See 2005 and 2015.
- The description for Reina Maria states "Known for its beautiful view and the nearby beaches. Named in honor of Felipe II's first wife, Mary I." The problem is, in reality, Mary I was Felipe II's second wife, not first.
- The '84 in '84 Sheepdog obviously means that the vehicle is from 1984, but the vehicle it is based on (Prisa Cúmbila) is from the 2000s. The movie van that it's an easter egg to is from 1994 (when the first movie came out and made it famous), so it's off by 10 years. As such, it's not known if such a vehicle was made in 1984 in this universe, or whether this is a massive anachronism.
- Rico can defy physics with his grappling hook on a daily basis. In reality, defying physics is impossible. Alternatively, it's possible physics works in a different way in this alternate universe.
- The Black Hand seem to have a massive concentration of tanks in Just Cause 4 in that at least one appears at all levels of heat from low to high. In reality, PMCs do not have over 1000 tanks of their own, and since tanks were first made in World War I, it's highly impractical to have such a large number unless there was some kind of tank supply depot somewhere that isn't Prospero Tanques. Even then, British Mark V tanks were not exported widely.
- Railguns in real life are still being tested by a few nations. The United States Navy is the sole user of the railgun right now, and even that is a massive cannon like weapon mounted onto a destroyer. For Titans and Rico to wield them easily in such a simplified form is quite frankly impossible, unless some scientist in Solís found a way to miniaturize railgun technology.
- The Black Hand description for Prospero Robótica mentions "Since its inception in the 80s, Prospero's drone program has expanded from a meager ten-person research site into a sprawling and unorthodox factory." The problem is, computers, let alone drones, were still in their infancy in the 80s. It's not known if this means the world in this universe moves much quicker technologically or whether this is something impractical in reality. Also, if the Black Hand had a drone program of their own in the 80s, that would make them as technologically advanced as the eDEN Corporation.
