Is the National Mosque a marked settlement? Pc101 (talk) 23:06, September 13, 2012 (UTC)

It isn't. It's located south-east of Pulau Delima, can be seen on the map as some small white dots on an island. However, this discussion should be moved to the page's talk page. (OrdermanSaddex 12:05, September 14, 2012 (UTC))

Rename[]

Up to now, this article has been called "National Mosque", because of the two moon symbols on the roof of the building.

I've consulted some Islam specialists and it turns out that the Crescent (moon symbol) isn't really the symbol of Islam, so it's probably not a Mosque.

Islam specialist: "Some modern buildings have it but the old mosques did not have a moon symbol. If you visit old cities like Cairo and many other old cities in Muslim majority countries and look at old mosques, they do not have a moon symbol. If you read old book you find that the original mosques in Madina like Masjid Al Nabawi and Masjid Quba in Madina during the time of Muhammad just had four walls and a reed roof along one of the walls. They were very simple and were used as places for education and most of the money was spent on education and feeding the poor in their community, not on the buildings. It says nothing about a moon symbol anywhere in the old Muslim books and there is nothing about a moon symbol in the Quran."

In light of the above, I'm renaming the article to "Unnamed religious site at X:20160; Y:27740". GMRE (talk) 74:95, January 4, 2014 (UTC)
