  • The GTA game series has a lot of myths and in some cases the games themselves are intentionally made to encourage myths. These "myths" are always either obvious lies, or the kind of things that would be very difficult to disprove. They're usually stories about super-rare hidden events that are suppose to happen either extremely rarely, or as a result of an improbable sequence of random events.

As soon as a myth is proven, it becomes a fact. When it's disproven, it should end. Trouble is that in some cases in the GTA series a myth can start in GTA 2 and be disproven. Then when GTA 3 came out, the same myth was back. And then again in GTA San Andreas and some have even spoken of it in GTA IV. Every time it has been an obvious lie with no evidence.

The only myths I've so far heard about JC games are:

    • In JC(1), there's suppose to be a small island between the mainland and Isla Dominio. The island rises out of the water only once and has spawn points for all the weapons in the game.
    • In JC2, there's suppose to be a garage somewhere in Panau City that opens very rarely and there's suppose to be a pink Si-47 Leopard inside.
    • In JC2, some unknown settlement at an unknown location is said to contain a "national cathedral". This wiki even had a very uninformative article for it, until it was deleted for being fake.

Those three are total fakes, but the following have been proven to be real:

    • The Unnamed religious site at X:20160; Y:27740 was at first thought to be a fake and the article was even deleted at some point, until it was discovered. The article was extremely uninformative and the whole thing just sounded so fake, just like the "national cathedral". This settlement used to be known as the "national mosque". See the talk page for more info about the name.
    • I guess the Unnamed island at X:20400; Y:31100 was also at first a myth.
    • Most of the Easter Eggs must have started as myths, until they were properly documented.

    Has anyone heard of more?

    • I belive I have, but I don't remember anything.

    • I just remembered another one. Some people were calling it a myth that the height of the PBC Tower is always different. That was because several sites on the internet mentioned that it's the highest tower in the game and most of them had different heights. We have by now solved this issue with the height table.

Those lights are the lod (level of detail) versions of the lights inside of the submarine in the final mission of JC2. When you come close the lights seem to fade out. This is because they are supposed to give way to the close texture versions of the lights, but they don't stream in because the sub is gone.

Check this out, with some of the sub interiors loaded:

    • I have another. Some people have claimed to see a yeti roaming the highest points of the Berawan Besar Mountains. It supposedly spawns very rarely and when it does, it will run away from the player. It sounds very unlikely though, atleast to me, escpecially since no evidence was provided.

    • I have found an easter egg for JC1. I suggest you have the Rioja 04 Safehouse for this. Get the Skreemer, and go to the island on the very west of San Esperito. There will be a single settlement at the location,(I think it's a military base, not sure.) It will be on a small mountain. Around the base of it, about south-west maybe, is a strange Aztec-like temple. There are about 3-5 stone houses surrounding it. The thing is, The base of the temple is not solid. The tip of it is though. There are also weird, jumpy civilians that have machetes, and they run away from Rico. They have a unique set of dialogue, but because my game is strangely in French, I can't understand what they are saying. It's actually very creepy, as it has the whole place has no reason to exist at all. Was it originally planned for a mission in the beta, a settlement to liberate, or was it just a thing the devs put in? If you do know, I am planning on making a page for it, and any info will be welcome.(Note: This is on the PS2 version, so no mods were used. Also, for a title, I was thinking of The San Esperito Society.)

This myth which is completely false, claims that if you drive the Bald Eagle Persuader at its maximum speed for long enough, with out touching any other controls and with out crashing into any beach that would change the course, then it would at some point take off like a Plane and become an aircraft.

This was easily proven false by driving it in a straight like along the edge of the Map.

Yes, many people have heard about the cell phone. I do believe your words. But what I find interesting is that this noise must have been put to use some how. What I mean by that is when I am stranded out in the woods, I get lead back to a near by road or mostly a military base. Under my investigation, I always got lead to a military base multiple times. That ringing must be located in a military base, despite that it is just a cell phone mix up.

The same article states that there's a Guerilla variant of the Sentry STRL-14 that also appears in a Liberation sidemission. Does anyone have any information on that? If it's true or not?

    • The only way a Black Hand tank would appear in a liberation sidemission were if the liberation would be in a city (Esperito City or Nuevo Estocolmo) or town (more, but still limited). Frankly, I have never seen a Black Hand tank, but I have seen their helicopters which can literally insta-kill you. I don't think they even show up unless you do sidemissions or go to Isla Dominio.

I have only seen one version of the Guerrilla tank during liberations (city, town, and military base), and that's the Scout. All other versions are in sidemissions only and Taking Out the Garbage Pt. 1.

Well I have heard of 2 myths created by the same guy, both involving water.

He said that in the north-east corner of the map you'll see an island. It is very small, and its the furthest island out in the north-east. So he flew there and swam under water, and the music suddenly changed to some eerie music. He said theres a small circular hole somewhere there, so he travelled there but didn't find anything.

Kind of interesting, so I'll have to check it out. Maybe there IS some sort of sea monster or some strange unmarked location.

      Also, just call me 24.

    • Oh, and the second one wasn't that interesting. And to specify, JC2.

        Loading editor
    • The JC2 myth about there being an island out at sea, somewhere to the north-east, was started by a pre-release Map that shows an island there. I've looked for it myself. I saw nothing unusual.

      See also: Cut game content.

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, but there is a very small "island" out on sea. Its more of a rock now that I got there.

So I looked for a while and found no hole. Just water.

I think it was just a fake myth. There wasn't any music, and no hole.

      So that myth was busted.

Also, if my ID thingy is different its because I'm on a different computer.

        Loading editor
    • And where exactly is this rock? Is it off the edge of the PDA map? If it's unmarked on the map, could you point it out on a map (edit in Paint) and upload it?

        Loading editor
    • It isn't that hard to find actually.

Look at the top right corner of the map. There's going to be 2 small islands, and right of that is the "rock". Its very small, but you should see some shallow water there, indicating where it is.

        Loading editor
    • Remember those underwater plants from a while back? I looked at the unmarked points of interest map, and saw that there were more underwater trees in another location. I thought it was supposed to be where the trees I discovered was, and that location was a mistake, so I investigated and found the trees. Additionally I saw half-submerged or fully-submerged trees on the beaches of islands across the map and it brings me to the conclusion that there are many plant location errors in Just Cause 1. I'm off to find them all, wish me luck!

Edit: Do you know if you can suffocate in Just Cause 1? If not then my job might be a lot easier. And one more thing, does anyone know of, or can make, a mod that entirely removes water from Just Cause 1?

First of all I found two different groups of submerged trees, on top of the one in the map, and on top of the one I discovered previously, south of Esperito City. The most interesting find though? There's a massive cliff system under the water that's perfectly vertical, southeast of Isla San Cristobal. Additionally, I discovered a massive chain of dirt designs under the water that spans the entire map. It's probably nothing but there could be a signature or a picture hidden amongst the scribbles. I'm going to upload some stuff about my finds.

Also, I discovered a new glitch that allows the player to walk on water. I think it's caused by being far enough out into the ocean.

The arrow shape is called a "bastion". See "star forts" at wikipedia for more about this.

    • Some Safehouse garages have enough clearance when shut to see what's inside them without opening the door. Agency Safehouse 5 is one such example.
      Garage clearance

It's a little hard to see, but you can see the tires of the Meister LAV 4 series 2 that's stored in that garage without opening the door.

    • So, I have a theory that Delta is McDonnel Helicopters (MD Helicopters). To back this up, one of their helimachopters is based off an MD, and the other helicopter doesn't have a tail rotor, and looks as if it was suposed to look like it had NOTAR. Why am I mentioning this? Because MD is famous for being the only company in the world to have helicopters with NOTAR being mass produced. And the reason why it is an attack helicopter, is because Boeng and MD are partnered in real life. And the Chimaera is a joint manufacture between the two companies. That also adds a new meaning to it's name, a hybrid, Multiple companies designing it.

Then we move on to Just Cause 2. The Topachula. So basically the Topachula is Mk II, or a sucessor from the same companies as from the Chimaera. A modified version, but still keeping the bad handing.

But Delta is not in JC3, well under their name. It is possible that Delta has continued production under another name, because MD has roots extending one way to Sikorsky, and the other to Bell, possibly the two largest helicopter brands in the US or even the world. So this is the connection, starting from Sikorsky:

      Sikorsky-Schweizer-Hughes-MD-Boeing-Bell

So many of the brands in the Just Cause Game Series are all one big company, starting from brands in Just Cause 1.

Nice helicopter theory, but what do you mean the Chimaera is a "Joint-manufacture?"

        Loading editor
    • In no way is the AH-33 Topachula a Mk.2 of the Delta MAH-15 Chimaera. The Topachula is smaller, but still has extremely inferior handling. It also doesn't have guided missiles. Its only advantage is that it can fly sideways, but that's because due to Game limits no JC1 helicopter could fly sideways.

Well Boeing made the Apache, and infact MD did too for a time. So it's basically a NOTAR Apache. Even though they look nothing alike.

The Urga Fura 570's article states the following: ◾Appears in a Random Encounter called "Juggernaut". You are tasked with delivering a D.R.M. version to a drop point.

I saw in "Just Cause 2 Bugs and Glitches" the mention of everyone vanishing. I wanted to share my experience about this, because I didn't see it really mentioned anywhere else.

To reproduce this effect (at least on my ps3), one just has to go to Hantu Island (after the mission Stranded, didn't test it before) and come back (I extracted, not sure about the other transportation ways), and everyone will disappear, except the faction members in bases taken over, and Panau soldiers in military bases and settlements' outskirts (with the captured civilians). Those surrounding pipelines/mobile radars/propaganda trailers/fuel depots/colonels will also spawn. Aprat from that, no civilians, no faction members, no soldiers, no vehicles (except if the rare Panau soldiers decide to go for a ride). If Heat is created, that'll just alert the nearby soldiers (so kill them first and you're done), as no reinforcements will come (no land vehicles, no boats, no choppers...), no matter the heat level (tested in Panau City with some propaganda trailers). They will only came if called (meaning when you rape military bases or activate the consoles in the communication outposts).

As said in the Bugs and Glitches thread, just start a race and everything will be back to normal (or load a save). Not sure about dying though, never tested it.

(Speaking of communication outposts, I have seen twice, in the same location, in two different saves (hardcore), a rotor-less chopper with rockets be called after killing most of the soldiers in a communication outpost in Tana Rayah East. If you're interested, I'll look deeper into it)

Sorry about my not-so-perfect english, I only spotted my errors after having published.

Anyway, we have another one. This one is more like a simple case is misidentification... or is it? Apparently there may be a Black Hand CS7 Thunderhawk out there.

User:Pure Competizione added the pictures, so I'm guessing he was the one to report this.

"This is yet to be confirmed but a CS7 Thunderhawk was spotted flying over Scolio, near one of the floating platforms. It is rumored to be a Black Hand vehicle but its design looks similar to the rebel and military variants. The aircraft had a strange flight path, it flew in from the west and turned around heading back. The same plane was later seen over a different platform upon investigation, though it has not been seen past then. There is also rumored to be a spawn location off the coast of Lacrima, in-between Insula Striate and the region."

      "Locations:"

      • "N 40 44.605 E 5 29.585"
      • "N 40 43.605 E 5 29.230"

User:Pure Competizione was also the one who removed it from the CS7 Thunderhawk article, claiming it was "debunked".

    • I intercepted it. It's military but it has an odd flight pattern where it would fly a circle around a couple of platforms in stingray, go around some stations, go directly over the main stingray base and then off towards Libeccio's western border before crashing into the ground just before the wall.

    • It's unclear if a retail (disk) version actually exists for the PC. The PC disk version is at this point a myth.

      • Originally promotional materials that showed the game boxes showed boxes for all 3 versions. Oddly the "box" of the PC version has "Steam" written on it, confirming that the PC version only comes on Steam. These 3 boxes were obviously just CGI.
      • In later trailers the end scene was changed to only showing boxes for the console versions. Steam was normally marked at the bottom of the page, below the boxes.
      • All official sources for where to buy the PC version only direct to Steam.
      • Then on 2018.11.14, there was a confusing post on the official Just Cause facebook page that had a picture of a stack of game boxes of each version, including a PC DVD.
      • All internet searches for a Just Cause 4 retail version only show options for a "CD key" for Steam. Except for the following 1.
      • There is 1 online store in India that seems to be selling a PC DVD version of JC4 and they even show a box cover. However, that box cover seems more CGI rather than a photo of a physical box.
        Loading editor
    • 1. Avalanche might pull a Fallout 76 and package an actual box with a cardboard/plastic disk inside with a steam code on it, but this is unlikely.

      2. "The online store in India" probably doesn't have a PC DVD version, and as of now, I don't see an option to buy it. (I don't trust Games The Shop anyway, some of my friends over in India have used it and they always get ripoff versions of the games they ordered.)

        Loading editor
    • 1. As you said

This is highly unlikely, so chances are it won't happen

      2. "The online store in India" is probably some bad alt so don't consider it

    • My friend said that in just cause 3, there were multiple outpost that were liberated, you could find a Rebel carrying the urga vdova 89. I have checked a few and haven't found any, so I'm not sure if this is true.

        Loading editor
    • Reactivated 134 days later

There are fairly few Rebellion soldiers who wield the Urga Vdova 89

But I think they're listed on the said weapon article

        Loading editor
    • The trouble is that JC3 has been updated multiples times (see Just Cause 3 Patch history) and some updates made unannounced tweaks to the heat system and possibly to a few more things. These are the types of things that could be referred to when a patch is said to include "other bug fixes".

        Loading editor
    • This was only like a month ago, I don't remember any patches on PS4 since then.

        Loading editor
    • Oh?

    • In just cause 4, people think that you can find all the cars with racing kits since you can find the buggy with a racing kit, they also all have no name which is a similarity adding to the myth.

        Loading editor
    • Also I found the Urga Vdova 89 spawns and was the person who originally posted there locations, I just didn't have an account back then

        Loading editor
    • Hmm... going to have to remember that one (about the special buggy).

        Loading editor
    • Yeah, there's a buggy at ensueno, and 2 near Estatuas Pirana, nobody has spoken about the 2 at Pirana which also makes me the first. An easy way to tell than apart is the spoiler

        Loading editor
    • The buggy doesn't even have its own article yet, so that's a problem. I'll make one later today then.

        Loading editor
    • Wow, the buggy actually has 4 versions, the armed one that's DLC, the civilian one, and then the BH version along with the upgraded\special spoiler version, also an off topic but, I've seen screenshots for the three DLC on PSstore that I have seen nowhere else including a special version of the verdeleon, people think that you can find this car along with a special azor 3 like the "beta" and a special vistosa as well. The screenshots look epic and like I said I've seen them nowhere else.

It seems that the death races are Mad-Max esque encounters. Also competitors appear to have weapons mounted on their vehicles, if a competitor mounts a rocket launcher to his verdeleon eco it would be easier to tackle him with shields. As for a story purpose, Sheldon could easily secure some shields from his friends at the Agency. (Also the spoiler at the end tells us why we would obtain them.)

Also found a cave under the water fall at Abismo which has odd rock formation, it doesn't "look" like it leads out the map but neither does a CS7 Thunderhawk parked on a train so I won't quite judge it, yet.

    • I was supply dropping things when the drop clipped through the ground. On another occasion the drop clipped through a bridge. This also happened with AA, mortar and railgun turrets on certain positions. The problem is that I can't reproduce it.

        Loading editor
    • I tried clipping into Illapa with a U41 Ptakojester(Sky Castle Cargo Jet) to see what the mission interiors look like afterwards, but in turn I failed. Anyways, the point of this is that cargo planes are great for glitching under the map, its what I used to see dead Simone Corso (or shall I say corps?) in the beta pieces-ish of stingray. I have a video of that by the way, I should upload it.

This is a special AoC soldier, there special because they have a harness around there chest. If anyone knows or can identify the location where this photo was taken, it would be greatly appreciated. Just so you know, its the start to a Sargentino side mission, I did it already so I don't have the marker to its location, if these soldiers exist still after the side mission I need to find them. (It also looks as if the mission hasn't been started, and you can even see the marker to start it in the background)

That only is featured in operation windwalker, the reason why it can't go down that route in free roam is because the wall of wind cannons will be operational at all times.

That only is featured in operation windwalker, the reason why it can't go down that route in free roam is because the wall of wind cannons will be operational at all times.
You said that the wall of wind cannons will be operational at all time. Even in free roam?

And Seth still hasn't answered my question.

    • Seth isn't on the wiki 24/7

And chances are that question got lost in the mass of messages between this one and when it was asked

The wall of wind cannons becomes nonoperational after Operation Windwalker. However it can still be turned on after the mission.

    • Well, neither am I.

      And I quoted the question.

How do you turn the cannons on again?

    • I cannot get into Mina Vendavel to blow up any ACTIVE wind cannon. I know there are ones that are active, there just unreachable.

Why? You're Rico Rodriguez. All you have to do is fly in with your wingsuit, take out the many BH soldiers around the cannons, and do whatever is required to destroy the cannons.

    • @ Sethscream do not quote me - it pisses me off

@ Can I change my username It's not that simple

The wind cannons are usually mission exclusive items

        Loading editor
    • 1. What problem do you have with quoting?

      2. I don't recall a mission which featured wind cannons in Mina Vendaval. And Seth said that he could not get into Mina Vendaval, to which I replied.

      Ok. I had a misconception.

    • It's some complex personal reason reason. He can't explain it well himself.

And the mission was obviously Operation Windwalker.

I found something underwater. It might not be THAT special, but it's unusual.

What do you think this is?

Now, this isn't a myth, but do you usually see this when swimming underwater in Solís?

    • That's likely the remains of some ship wreck. In any case, at this time the most fitting article for it is Vehicle wrecks. Unless it's an old off-shore rig, or something.

So... I don't know what that is.

The GTA game series has a lot of myths and in some cases the games themselves are intentionally made to encourage myths.

What myth is this? The one which was false in the GTA series.

    • You said that there was a myth in GTA 2 and it was disproven. Then it came in GTA 3, disproved again. Then it came in GTA San Andreas and it has also been spoken of in GTA 4. What myth is this?

    • Oh. It was called something like "ratman". The idea was that occasionally when your character dies you might be able to see a human size rat-like monster show up at your body and begin eating it just before the game cuts away from the "wasted" screen.

San Andreas has a mod that makes it "real".

I think I saw what this is when I first found the Abismo Falls glitch. From What I understand, its the wreckage of a small ship, possibly an oil tanker (but this is too small for that and its in a lake) so i'm not sure.
