The Toy Offroader is a vehicle and a possible easter egg in Just Cause 4.
Appearance[]
This car takes the form of a generic small jeep with a permanent dark grey color with two yellow stripes, except it is tiny and smaller than Rico. Being a toy car, it has a miniature chassis with a small windshield, no doors and a single seat. As the car was not "intended" to be used by adults, it is incredible as to how Rico or any other characters can even barely manage to sit and control it.
Performance[]
Unusual for a car of its type. On a straight line, the car can go at around 170 km/h in a few seconds, making it one of the most powerfully accelerating vehicles in the game. However, the short wheelbase can make it unpredictable when steering. Any smallest amount of air-time will result in a very sudden 90+ degree turn.
If the car hits a bump or obstacle, it is almost guaranteed that the car is thrown at high speed and spinning uncontrollably, but Rico is unharmed. In fact, it doesn't seem to be possible for Rico to fall out, even if the vehicle is sliding upside down over bumpy ground.
The car also seems to be very durable, showing no sign of damage after multiple falls and jumps in off-road conditions. Head-on collisions at high speed will however destroy the car soon.
The engine sounds like a very small moped, but at the same time there's an additional faint high-pitched sound.
Locations[]
- At Quya, at north side of Islas Intichayes. Look for the stunt ramp leading to the stadium. From there, go behind one of the buildings at the right side of the dirt road and right on the next building, you should see the car in there, among some stuff behind the building.
- If Rico is driving around anywhere with heat in a tiny vehicle, there is a chance a Black Hand soldier will spawn in one of these. The soldiers can also get out to chase Rico on foot.
Trivia[]
- This vehicle is similar to the vehicles from the "Toy Vehicles pack" DLC and possibly inspired the pack.
- According to the company logo in the bottom right corner of the HUD, it's made by Armadillo.
- This vehicle was secretly added to the game at some point after launch. See more at Just Cause 4 Patch history.
- It resembles any generic electric drivable toy Jeep, the likes of which have been made for small kids since the 1990s.
