Training: Drone Activity is a mission in Just Cause 4.

Introduction

Quote from the map marker: "The Army of Chaos is tracking increased Drone Activity in Altoyaku. Take some trainees and investigate the area."

Bring any weapon you want. They don't need to be extremely powerful or anything, just something reliable that has sufficient ammunition (don't bring something like the Cow Gun).

Walkthrough

The mission starts at Puesto Guardia Altoyaku. Pick up the two Army of Chaos recruits, then drive the provided Warrior Offroader to the destination (marked by the yellow arrows on the ground).

The destination has a small team of Black Hand soldiers (an elite and a few grunts with him). You are tasked with killing them.

Along the way to the next target, you might spot a few Black Hand PR83 Attack Drones. The Army of Chaos recruits will shoot at them, to little results, but the drones will ignore them and focus on you. The drones will apparently also travel to your destination. Don't try destroying every last one of them, as they respawn. Just play the objective and try to somewhat ignore the drones. Obviously there are times where you will have to fight them, but if you try outfighting them, you won't get anywhere, and heat may cause more powerful drones like the PR17 Rocket Drone to show up.

Next stop is a small checkpoint with a Black Hand machine gunner as its commander. Kill them.

After they are eliminated, the third destination is at Pueblo Kullu. This team of enemies are a riot shielder (their commander), a sniper, a ghost, and a few grunts. Kill them if you like, but the riot shielder is the only one that needs to be killed. There is a nearby Black Hand Dropzone Chopper if you want to take that instead of the Army of Chaos Warrior Offroader.

The final group of targeted Black Hand soldiers is at Suyana. The Black Hand commander is a colonel wielding a SMG-2. The colonel wears body armor that makes his entire body minus the head invulnerable to small-arms fire. You can kill him with two headshots from a sniper rifle. The colonel's armor is also completely ineffective against explosions, so if you brought an RPG or a Grenade Launcher, he won't be a problem. Here the drones finally stop fleeing and start attacking you and the recruits. The mission ends once all the Black Hand here have been killed.

Trivia

  • Initially this mission seems to have been called "Training: Drone Training", until it was renamed.
  • The Black Hand colonel seems to be coded differently for this mission, for he seems to be incapable of taking large amounts of damage, unlike other colonels in-game. This makes sense, as this is one of the first Sargento missions, so the player at the time of playing this mission would likely still be somewhat new to the game.
  • One of the recruits calls the drones "mindless killing machines made by mindless killing machines".
  • This was the 2202nd article on this wiki.
  • A glitch can occur where the Black Hand drones do not spawn. This can yield humorous results, as the whole point of the mission is to get rid of drones.
