Description[]
The map description states "The king's children were among the first to die in the Espinosas' dirty war against Otorongo."
While this place is a burial ground for Otorongo's three children, Rico must also move three Umas to three locks to unlock the vault to this place to reveal a clue to Otorongo's tomb.
Javi remarks when Rico first gets here that: "This is a grand ruin, my friend. Otorongo had three children so you will find three Uma here, one commemorating each of them."
When Rico retracts the lever on any one of the three, Javi says: "The Espinosa mythos tells us that Otorongo's oldest child was a violent maniac. Standards for such things were different then. But I'm inclined to believe that if the Espinosas taught it, the opposite must be true." When the Uma reaches the lock, Rico will say "That's one."
When Rico retracts a second lever, Javi comments "The youngest son of Otorongo was thought to be very sickly and ill, the result of frequent beatings! Beatings were common in those days, but why would a king waste a heir? It is nonsense." Rico replies "You have a soothing voice, Javi Huerta." When the second lock is set, Rico will say "That's two."
When Rico retracts the final lever, Javi remarks "That they were buried together suggests that Otorongo's offspring were not yet considered adults by the society at large. This may mean that the Espinosas murdered children to prevent the line from continuing." When the Uma reaches the lock, Rico will say "Last one. ... Vault's open. Let you know what I find." Javi will reply "Sí, please do."
The line for this tomb will be "Awaiting the grim faces of my forebears." Javi will remark "Hm. Ironic, to leave such a message on the tomb of one's own children." Rico will agree with "Mm."
The structure itself is composed of multiple layers, with civilians and possibly even tourists walking around. There's many benches on one layer, and there is one area facing the Frontera region with two benches, an Avalanche Studios Deck Chair between the two of them.
Location[]
Tierra del Qhapaq, southeast of Academia Wanay.
Completion[]
- Speed Stunt - Pass through the ring faster than 150 km/h (aircraft recommended).
- Car Stunt - Pass through the ring in a Prisa Temerario ATV. Completing this stunt unlocks it for supply drop.
- Wingsuit Stunt - Wingsuit through all rings in less than 15 seconds. It's one of the more difficult wingsuit stunts in the game. There are trees in the way, and two of the rings have trees in, or immediately behind them. Precision is required to pass through all three rings without crashing. Crashing once will almost guarantee a failure, as it takes many precious seconds for Rico to ragdoll, fall on the ground, get up, and get back into his wingsuit. If you own the "Digital Deluxe" content of the game, you may use the SkyStriker's boost. However, this is not particularly advisable, at least not when passing through the trees, as it will make it even more difficult to line up Rico with the hole between the trees and branches.
Trivia[]
- Only The Lost Tomb of Otorongo requires this many Umas to unlock the vault (actually even more), as the other four tombs only require one Uma to be moved to the lock, whereas this place requires three.
- There is a Avalanche Studios Deck Chair here, marking one of the few settlements to have a chair directly on the settlement. It was later discovered that El Lucero also has one within its settlement limits.
- It’s surprising that the structures holding the Umas have not collapsed, because they would be very susceptible to erosion.
