The Unnamed airport in southern Capite West (unofficial name) is a location in Just Cause 3.
Description[]
Its a small airport on its own island alongside another large dirt airfield used in an Air Race.
It is one of few airports in the game that have both ends of the runway clear of obstructions, allowing for landings from both ends. This may prove useful for players wishing to practice flying skills, although one should be cautious of the white tanks and the cliff in close proximity to the runway if using the U41 Ptakojester.
The runway itself has an odd rounded shape on each end. Real life airports only have rounded ends for turning nodes allowing larger aircraft to turn around if a taxiway isn't available next to the runway. In this case there are no markings indicating that purpose and it is shaped differently to real life turning nodes.
The runway is also unique for featuring 'functioning' runway lights that constantly flash on either side of the runway. This, again, is unrealistic as most airport runways with lighting have consistent lighting at night that does not flash. There are no visible runway exits.
There are a number of structures surrounding the airport, but its largely abandoned.
It features a large control tower reused from many other settlements in the game, attached to a small and dilapidated building with a single rebel out the back of it. There are a few vehicle wrecks surrounding the building, including a CS Navajo wreck.
On the other end of the runway are three large white tanks, similar to those carrying aviation fuel at a real airport; however these are positioned rather close to the runway and are prone to being collided with by none-the-wiser players. Next to these tanks are a number of burned building ruins. It is unknown what purpose they could have held at an airport.
While the airport doesn't hold much plot or game completion significance, it can be of use to the player as one of the locations Rico loads into after the game is restarted.
Location[]
Its located on its own island in southern Capite West. As mentioned above there is another airstrip on the island, with a single dirt runway used for an Air Race.
It's on the southernmost point of its island and isn't connected to the mainland by any roads, making realistic civilian access near impossible in theory.
The airport is easily visible from Vico Platessa and Arco Sperantia.
Vehicles[]
- 1 x Urga U17 Akrobat on the western end of the runway. Rico can load into the game leaning on this plane.
- A number of vehicle wrecks also spawn here.
