The Urga Stupka-210 is a mortar in Just Cause 3.

Description[]

This weapon is a mortar with a simple twist: this mortar is handheld.

The Rebel drop description says: "Most people in a firefight don't expect a mortar. That's where URGA's Stupka-210 comes in handy. Use it to clear the field before you run in guns blazing."

This weapon might have been inspired by the Type 89 grenade launcher, used by the real Imperial Japanese Military during World War II. It's the smallest real weapon of this type.

As a weapon only found near ancient tombs, this weapon is effectively only usable by Rico if he wants to.

Performance[]

The Urga Stupka-210 is more of a novelty weapon because of its low range, slow projectile velocity and subpar damage. Each time it fires, the player must deploy the mortar with one click, then wait out its long animation before it launches a round. This prevents it from firing on the move, making it a poor combat choice. As a mortar, it is able to shoot over obstacles, such as houses.

For a special weapon, it's unusually weak and is outclassed by nearly any other item taking the same slot.

Trivia[]

  • It's made by the fictional company Urga.
    • Despite being made by this company, it is never seen used in combat and is only ever found at the dirt mounds around Insula Striate, implying they had been left there. Considering the age in which Just Cause 3 is set in, had this weapon been manufactured, they would've been used by rebel and military forces.
  • Oddly, Rico holds it like a rocket launcher at first, until he begins to aim, at which point he points the weapon up like a mortar should be and holds it at waist level, also making it the only weapon Rico can't aim and walk with at the same time.
  • This weapon is NOT to be confused with the UPU-210, a weapon with a similar name, but different type.
    • However, the UPU-210 has the same numerical designation (210) as the Urga Stupka, indicating a possible relationship. Plus, both weapons are explosive and look like they were designed around similar times.
  • "Stupka" means mortar as in "mortar and pestle" sense in Russian. Oddly enough it doesn't mean mortar as a weapon.
  • "Stópka" (read: stupka) means footer in Polish.
