The Urga Szturm 63A is a military off-road car in Just Cause 3.
Description[]
It is a four-door armored military off-roader with an enclosed bed and a machine gun turret.
It is based on the GAZ Tigr (which itself closely resembles the HMMWV). It serves as the spiritual successor to the armed MV variants in the original Just Cause and the MV Quartermaster in Just Cause 2.
With heavy damage, the rear bed cover can come off, giving it the appearance of an MV V880 from Just Cause 2, or a real life Hummer H1.
The Rebel drop description says "If you want to be king of the road, get behind the wheel of the Urga Szturm 63A. This armored vehicles perfectly blends defense, speed and assault capabilities."
Performance[]
As expected from a military off-roader, it is a heavy vehicle with average handling good torque and decent speed. It can work well in almost anywhere, able to overpower steep inclines and drag smaller vehicles with great ease. A skilled driver can even outrun threats, further supplemented by its bulletproof tires.
Its combat value is somewhat questionable, being an assault vehicle usually manned by many. The armor is decent and can withstand small arms fire better or even a direct hit from CS Odjur/Urga Bkolos 2100, but not enough for prolonged engagements. The machine gun turret offers decent defense and has 360 degree coverage. The MG has enough stopping power to deter infantry and lightly armored enemy vehicles like the Urga Postolka, though it will struggle when engaging tougher opponents or when surrounded, due to the slow turn speed and lack of protection. Being a passenger weapon, it is often difficult if not impossible to take advantage of its strengths and the vehicle's own mobility simultaneously. It however can be conveniently used to destroy some Chaos Objects, if nothing better is available, helping to save ammunition.
Locations[]
Medici Military[]
- At most, if not all Military bases in Medici.
- Porto Vena.
- Vis Electra.
- Elsewhere.
- Featured in many storyline missions.
- Appears and chases Rico during all levels of heat except one. North of the wall, it can appear at all heat levels and even without heat. The one that appears without heat north of the wall only has a driver.
- The vast majority of them have a complement of 4 Medici Military grunts at heat level 2 and/or 3, and 4 commandos at heat level 3, 4, and/or 5.
- A fairly rare variant has two commandos plus a shotgunner and a machine gunner, or 3 commandos with a shotgunner or machine gunner. This variant appears at heat level 4 or 5.
The Rebellion[]
- Can be frequently found at most settlements and provinces around Medici, after they've been liberated and come under rebel control.
- Occasionally shows up during military base liberations as friendly land reinforcements. Usually these reinforcements spawn more than halfway through, and a gate must be opened to let them in.
- Provided as the default vehicle for all Scrapyard Scramble challenges.
- Unlocked for Rebel Drop after liberating Cava Geminos Sud.
Black Hand[]
This variant does not exist in the base game, but is added in the Mech Land Assault DLC.
- Patrolling roads in Insula Lacrima.
- During Heat in Insula Lacrima.
- Can spawn during the Hold the Fort phase of prisons.
- Two can often spawn at a fixed location at the unmarked base featured in the mission Stowaway. See below pictures.
- Can rarely spawn attacking Guardia Libeccio I. See below picture.
Trivia[]
- A part of its name "Szturm" is based on the polish word "szturm", which means "assault".
- The name may be a reference to the Stoner 63A, a Cold-War era machine gun, occasionally nicknamed "Stormer 63".
- In most pre-alpha gameplay videos featuring this vehicle, the turret sometimes has no gun on it. It was fixed in that time and there's no report about this bug in the final release.
- It's made by the fictional company Urga.
- The box magazine in the cut game content from Just Cause 3 picture has the words "W206 MOUNTED CAPSTONE" (next row) "M2HM" (next row) "STANDED M17 L[?]".
- There is a real world M2HB heavy machine gun, which could be the basis for the M2HM, possibly standing for "M2 Heavy Missile". Not only that, that turret looks very similar to the M2HB.
- If it were that way, then it makes no sense for a missile launcher to be replaced by a machine gun.
- Considering that, it is also possible that there was a Medici Military AA variant before the eDEN AA variant. Another piece of info to "possibly" support this theory is how the bullet feed in width is similar to the Capstone FH155 Anti-Air Gun.
- The game developers probably meant "Standard" instead of "Standed".
- It is a predecessor to the Warrior Offroader.
- There is a real world M2HB heavy machine gun, which could be the basis for the M2HM, possibly standing for "M2 Heavy Missile". Not only that, that turret looks very similar to the M2HB.
